whats the best thief???

I have a question cause when i get this game, i'm deffinatly gonna want to be a thief, a male one at that, so does anyone have any oppinion on the best male thief??? and also what would be a good sub job for a thief in general???

Mithras make the best theives. . But you want the best male so I think it'd be best ta go with elvaan thats what my plan is. I think a elvaan/warrior combo would be pretty useless (don't need taunt cause your mostly going ta be sneaking up on da enemy) so i'd go with monk or red mage as a sub. . :thumbsup:

you most of forgot...elvanns are type slow and are not the most agile ones..they mainly specialize in stregnth..i suggest hume but do what you want...

I'll recommend something to you.
Hume-Male
Job- Thief at the begining
Level 18, get your Sub Job
Thief/Monk
Level 30 get the ninja job change jobs
Ninja/Thief
you can duel wield and steal and sneak attack to your hearts content.
Reason for HUME
Galkas and Elvaans are slow and are ment for other purposes, so is life.
Tarus are mages.
Humes can do anything they want, and are good for thieves.
Reasons for ninja instead of thief
you get all the benefit of a thief while it is your sub job so there is no reason not to sub it.

Well, he wants to be Thief, so why you want him to be Ninja O.o ??? ... Anyways, sub Ninja just for the fun of it, and you would get Dual wield at Lv. 20 with your theif (its Lv. 10 Nin skill)

I said that I recommend it not do it. And I said it would be more beneficial to be ninja/thief.
I'm not going to tell people what to do, that's retarded. If someone wanted to be a taru DRK

I am gonna be an elvaan ninja//thief so I can dish out lots of damage. Oh and correct me if I'm wrong but I think every race has the same speed. It just depends on the job and what weapon you are using. I have heard this from lots of people but I don't know if its 100% true. You could go human and get the extra agility, or you could go elvaan and get the boost in str,hp, and mnd because you are already getting a boost in agility from the thief. You can either go balanced or you can go super agile. Your call.

true..but elvanns are made for warrior type classes..so even if you take all these powermup types you will still be slow..and taru tarus will make good thiefs to because they have high dex and agi :)

If you are going to be a thief Mithra is the best job because they have the highest DEX out of any other Race in the game. They also have very good Agility.

anyway, im a thief/monk

at lvl 50, thief learns an ability that makes them attack 3 times. combined with a grapple, they can attack 6 times usually. and then when combined with backstab or monk's counter attack, it makes it pretty deadly ^_^ and monks increase speed ^_^ but if you have a ninja/thief, you cant get the 3 combo attack, unless the level cap was 100 ^_^;;

I don't think thief/dark knight would be good, cool and I'd like to seem them in action, but not very good for lack of defense. And from what I hear Advance Jobs don't make very good subs. But I would like to see a taru anything that isn't a mage, pally, or a monk.

Taru is the race for that. I didn't try any other races though.
My job is going to be Hume DRK/MNK.

What if you add Sneak Attack-Decieve-Counter Attack-Combo ^^-Weapon Skill?

What u gotta understand is deceiving/backstab with a thf sub is shite to say the least, i PTd with a lvl 32war/thf and his backstab did about 40 dmg, mine doing 170+ :P
