Well, I kept getting childish replies and stupid comments upon posting my program so i just removed the program since i think ffxionline isnt really worth having it.
Here is a screen shot of the program:

if you still want the program, you can PM me and i'll give you the link :)
-Description:
So, what does Monk Damage Calculator do?
Well, it basically make you input your stats for both TP gain gear and WS gear, it tells you your min and max damage, min and max critical damage for both punches and kicks. and also tells you your min and max WS damage (Assuming all hits hit)
But what really is this program useful for is that you can figure out which gear to wear for TP gain and WS to output the MAXIMUM DAMAGE PER MINUTE!, I've made the DPM get estimated based on many many variables. And those are as follows:
- for TP gain this will affect your DPM:
STR, DEX, ATK, H2H, ACC, StoreTP, Crits%, DA%, Haste, Kick+, Focus, Temple crown)
- for WS this will affect your DPM:
STR, VIT, DEX, ATK, H2H, ACC+, DA%
- other stuff that will affect your DPM:
WS gorget, Sneak Attack, Berserk, Your Level
- Monster stats that will affect your DPM:
Level, VIT, AGI, Defense, Evasion
- Other important things that will affect your DPM:
Weapon Used, WS used, Food used, Feet used, TP used @?, DMG adjusting
Manual "Weapon, WS and Food" stats can be entered as you can see in the screen shot incase you didnt find your item listed or if you want to play around a little
Since PUP also uses H2H, I added a PUP option for PUPs ^^;
History file will be included about fixed and stuff to be added
*All the formulas used are from FFXIclopedia (http://www.ffxiclopedia.com)
Feedbacks and ideas would be great!

1. Be very, very careful of unknown 3rd party applications.
2. Why would I want to measure my damage per minute when everyone else is measuring their damage per second? (Yes, I realize I could divide by 60, but it seems odd that you wouldn't do that step for me).
3. I won't touch your program unless you post the source code.

:)
Hey sabaron.
Well, its normal for people to freak out upon downloading or getting new applications.
1-this program does not read or take any info from the PC whatsoever. so it isnt really considered as a 3rd party program. beside you can always check with anti-virsus, spyware, or whatever you have. or use it with PC that does not have FFXI installed in it, and check
2-Umm, I believe DPM would be better since, weapon skills are used often in about 1 minute, if not more or less. Beside I think DPM would be more accurate and reliable. Well, if you want, i can always add DPS, just divide the DPM by 60, and thats it :)
3- I used visual basic to write this program, I'm not showing my code until i quit FFXI :P, sorry i just worked hard and dont want to give it away yet. Don't touch it you if you dont want it, quite frankly i dont really care if you do or not. I'm just a Fellow Monk who created this program to help determining best equip and food and wanted to share it with my other fellow monks :)
Thanks,
sorry i just worked hard and dont want to give it away yet.
Quite frankly, you might as well post the source code. It's not like your program is going to sell more than a few copies if you try to; and it's not like it's not possible for someone else to come along and make something even more effective.
Not to mention it's nearly impossible to tell how accurate it is without being able to see the code, and see how the calculations are done.

It is still a third party program, because it isn't made by SE. You are not a reliable party, and thus any downloads from you are to be avoided. It is possible that whatever your program does does not require FFXI to be installed, and would not be detected by antimalware programs.
Really, making your program open source has many benefits, while keeping it closed has none (in this case, that is)

well, its up to you guys, you want to benifit you can use it. you dont want you, ur loss :)
just what you do for the people and how they react to it...
Given that we have no reason to trust you (6 posts?) and you have no reason not to show people the source code, the risk here far outweighs the reward.

how do you calculate dpm when you can have full ACC gear and still miss a lot?

Unfortunately, we can't answer that question because he won't post the source. ^^
DPS is mob-relative, so anything he can calculate would have to be based on some sort of archetypal monster unless he has a database of all mobs and their various stats. Since I don't know that such a thing exists, I don't know as that any calculations made would be accurate.
I also refuse to run the program since I can't see the source code, so I can't even see what parameters you can set.

appearnly you guys did not even bother look at the screen shot of the program, everything is obviouse once you open it. You will notice a place where to input Mob stats, and you can easily obtain them either from sites, or estimate them yourself. And Sabaron you dont have to answer for me ^^, I can answer alone. Hence i'm the one who wrote the code... ^^
^^

Actually, you can compare it with your results ingame, EASILY. lol... /sigh, well~
All the forumlas are from ffxiclopedia.com, and until now, its been over 98% accurate for me and all my friends who used the program
Also, I was not intending to sell this program anyways, maybe only donations :P, but thats it. And if anyone wants to make a more effective program, he's more than welcome. lol... I dont really mind :)
Well, I might have only 6 posts in this forum, just coz its kinda nooby, not really that interesting posts, i go to either killingifrit or allakhazam, where more serious discussions are made. I already posted this program there, and they used it and got benifeted from it. and i got goodfeedbacks and ideas to update. Also, if you go back to my first posts, u'll see them from LONG time ago, so i've been playing this game for a long time now and not just a new guy who created this acc to post this program only... /sigh

._. Looks like you manually input all the variables? In that case, it's not a "third party program" to FFXI. No more than Yahoo messenger, anyway, even if you talk to people about FFXI while on it.
Brow beating the author of a program into releasing source code is a bit silly, by the way. His program, his rules--you don't have to download or run it if you don't like it.

He doesn't. But when he asks why you won't download it, and you say "because I don't know you, and I can't see the source code," that's a pretty valid answer.

This is all facinating, however, where's the data for MNK AFKness per hour?
SedoSan
05-14-2008, 12:10 PM
Well, most threads here discuss MNK on low levels, and some like lol when to stop sub drg..and this kind of stuff, while the others discuss level 75 equip, End game and the such.
And will, at least i won something :) i want my funniest thread award. lol
Well, this program is to calculate ur damage per minute while fighting, MNK AFKness isnt really included. But you can include that by clicking the NooB button...
And like IfritofItanura said, you can download the program and benifit, or you can go sob at a corner..
^^

Or you can not download it and have absolutely no regrets about that decision.

And sob in a corner like a little girl :P and regret not have a very useful and fun program :)
If anyone could give me feedback i'll really appreciate it. or any ideas to improve the program even more, please PM me if you have any ideas :)
Thank you,
Murphie

Suggestions for improvement: Release the source code. Grow up and stop suggesting that people who have no interest in your program are crying like little girls. Build a program around DPS instead of DPM.

No, you grow up and stop asking me to show the source code(I dont think that who asked me to show is even a programer), I already added the DPS option, but havnt upload it yet, (Using college proxy, no ftp connection). And I'm not arguing with you guys anymore.
I thought i'd have the worst time posting this in allakhazam coz all of the flaming happening there, and easiest time in this forum, coz its more noobish and small. I was wrong, lol, Although this forum is small, the most idiot and rudest people are in it, i'm amazed.
Its just sad how people just gave up on the idea that all people are not bad. I fell sad for you guys. You have faith in no one. I'll look for people who really deserve respect and attention. You guys stay at the bottom and on the retarted level of yours, while other people around you advance and walk pass you.
This isnt mentioned to all guys in the forum, I'm sure there are some of you that are good and nice, but the rest... oh well
I'll just not look in a better place where i can post my program :), you guys are just not worth it. Don't bother replying as i'm not checking back :) C ya guys
And good luck.

Nothing to see here. Locked.
For the record, I would warn all users to be wary of any 3rd party tool, no matter how innocuous it is said to be. Most of us have put a lot of time and energy into our characters, and compromising that, especially for a tool that is purportedly of such marginal use, isn't a good risk-return investment.
