I'm gonna be a thief/ranger, probably mainly ranger when I can be it.
I was wondering, is it possible to hold 2 daggers? I think I read somewhere that you can't, but it also says on your equipment slot "main weapon" and "secondary weapon" or something like that, so do you just choose between the two or what?
Also, what weapons can thieves and rangers use? And what are the advantages/disadvantages of each?
One more thing, if you're in a party and you steal something, do you get it then or are you unable to use/access it until the battle's over, and it be up for grabs to anyone in the party in the item pool or whatever?
that probably doesn't make much sense.. I mean, if you steal it, is it yours, or does it count as one of the items the party earned from the battle?

Not possible to hold 2 daggers, secondary weapon means shield.
Rangers can use daggers axes and bows and guns. Thiefs can use claws, daggers, 1 handed swords, and bows/boomerangs/1 of the guns.
For a ranger, the first weapon doesnt truly matter, because your weapon skill will be for your bow. Thiefs, depending on your subjob, i f your subjob is a monk, use claws, if it is ranger, use dagger, if it is anything else, use 1 handed sword.
With steal, if you successfully do steal something "very hard at higher levels without good dex/agility" you keep it, and the party cannot roll for it.

What would theif weapons be if it were your sub-job? Same as if it were a main job?
If thief were sub, it wouldn't matter. You can only use the weapons of the main job.

rangers can also use 1h swords... or at least that's what i was told... if this helps, my thief is training:
dagger
1h sword
claws/grapples (same thing)
bow
gun
also, if you plan on using a gun as a ranger, i'd suggest that you start off using a crossbow since they go towards the same skill lvl. it's much cheaper and you do not want to waste your bullets. however, i have heard that there was no crossbow for thieves to use, so you may want to train heavely on your bow until you become a ranger, and then start your crossbow^^ hope this helps.
