So I got the trial Codes. I went to download site typed in the download code and it downloaded the "downloder"

K 2GB yay 20 mins.. not bad 2.30mb/s the whole time.

So when it was done i got a error saying it cant open file. So i went to the desktop where it downloaded and it says ! C:\Documents and Settings\ricky\Desktop\FFXI_US.zip: Unexpected end of archive
(winRAR)

or says corrupted with winzip..

I downloaded it 3 times on this computer and 1 time on my laptop same thing

Firewall/Virus scanner both disabled..

any clues?

Assuming you do have enough disk space..

As goes for many things in life, especially computer problems:
Finding the problem is half the sollution.
Most (if not all) computer problems are Question & Answer.

> Step1: Finding the problem.

Do you have Windows with a partition using the FAT32 file system?

Cause (this is a little complicated) I think the download isn't complete.
You'd be downloading the file; and Windows will try to save it on a partition with FAT32, and this can't save files larger than 2GB.

That's one of several reasons why you should use NTFS. NTFS can save files up to 4 TerraByte or something.

> Step2: Sollution.

If the problem is as said above:
A) If you have more than one partition, try to download it on another partition that has NTFS file system.

B) Create another partition with NTFS. If you know how this works, you also should know what programs to use to do this. (If not you can always ask, lol)

C) Save the file on an external Harddisk that uses NTFS and install it on your normal partition from there. It might be a bit slower than regular install. Maybe a MP3Player with enough space?

Note:
Also know that Internet Explorer saves every file you download in the Temp(orary) directory first, untill it's fully downloaded. Thus if the Temp folder is on a FAT32 partition, you'd have the same problem even if you'd do something I said above. Default Temp folder location is C:\Temp
I'm not quite sure if this could be an issue, as you use a "Downloader" provided by PlayOnline.

Maybe someone can correct a few things that I said here and there, but for now we'd have to find out if this is actually your problem.

Hmm, that's sad. I'm not quite sure if it would work either.
I'm thinking. >.<

Seems to me it's just a problem on PlayOnline's side then.. Can't you try to download the EU version? It's exactly the same, except with an option to choose German or French.
