I was just wondering if this was still going? It says that my friend would have to buy a Gold World Pass, but I was under the impression that they didn't sell world passes anymore. Anyway, could someone let me know if they still do this. And if they do, will you explain to me how and where I enter the Gold World Pass Code.

World Passes don't exist anymore. Gold World Passes are still available for recruitment purposes, to get items and such. You'll enter the GWP number in the character creation menu. You can choose whichever server you want now. Again, GWP's are only so you both can get special items and such. No harm in getting one for your friend.
