I was wondering if any of you have tried to use this thing? I have read what the wiki has on it and Idid the one in ordelle's cave twice. Both times I got doctor status before trading the items and I still wound up getting adaman ore and no Rune Items. Not that I can use them at the time but I could use some gil from selling it on AH, So Iwonder what am I doing wrong to get these rune Items to drop? Is there and eiser one to do than Oredell's Cave?

Its just a random drop even with doctor status.

Dang, well still wondering it it worth the 22k investment each trip to keep trying it

Doctor status does not mean you will get a certain item such as Arcane Flowerpots or Rune Weapons, but rather prevents you from getting worthless results, like Crystal Clusters or even Elementals from spawning.

Actually, I'm pretty sure you can still spawn elementals with Doctor status. They just don't spawn unless you trade an incorrect colored chip to it.

Yeah, but even with the right color elementals can still spawn without doctor.

I used to do that strange apparatus alot when gil was inflated and 20k didnt amount to much. I would bring around 10 or so trades a trip matching the element of dungeon with day with chip. Different rune weapons drop from different dungeons. Since the rune weapons are about a 25% ish drop in doctor mode I would suggest your bring more then one trade. With 10 you will most likely get some rune something (hopefully not just arrows) a handful of adaman nuggets, probably one of those flowerpots too which may help cover the cost of your chips.

Exactly what is with those strange apparatuses? I've seen them before but never knew their purpose.

They are something of Zilart/Dawn Madien origins. I say Dawn Madiens due from the fact how the voice from the machine after use speaks in hopes of the adventurer to be successful. If i can assume, I'd say these were added with the Zilart expansion to aid the adventurers against the Ark Angels and stop the gate of the gods to open.

There is 11 machines, 8 working, 10 tagetable, 1 non targetable. Each behind the 'false' walls. 8 that works has a color, trading that color chip with the stones that drop from Dynamis statues will produce an item, craft or rune type. Rune weapons take mp while you draw your weapon to work. While not the best weapons even with latents, they're still good for their classes.

Judging by the fact the run weapons use the same model as the Jailer ones, I'd say they are templates of the Jailer's.

Thats all I have to offer. Probally not much or just restating, but its something.

But here is my Question. Are they really worth going after to sell on the AH?

Why don't you check the AH prices and sell histories and find out?

Well I would and will once I get home, but usually when I am asking the question I am at work where the network banned all sites realted to the game except this one

I believe either the Rune GA or axe is the real money winners.
Rune bangles, barely cut even for getting a chip.

Well, it's hard to deny having a big gold greataxe that any job in the game can use isn't part of the attraction. It's actually a pretty good drop if you can get it. Sells reasonably well.

And actually, Dawnmaidens are Zilaart. They're priestesses, not a different race. Also, the ruins definitely aren't Kuluu, since they don't match Kuluu ruins, which would make them Zilaart.
