I thought the "Well-Suited for Military use" meant almost automatically Black, but it turns out that it is just STR dominant. /cry

I was feeding it Carrot Paste for a few days, then I just said, "eff it" and started giving it Vomp Carrots. So I'm just going to hope for the best.


I'll let you guys know what happens tonight.

I just got lucky on my second and third tries, both turned out black. I can't think of anything special I did besides feed a mix of Vomp Carrots and Azouph Greens.

Trans-continental chocobo? {Yes, please}. I should also be able to attack from it, just so I wouldn't have to get off it when I get to a camp.

I'm also working on a new chocobo. This was from an egg I had gotten through breeding a number of months ago, both parents are red. It just hatched the day before yesterday.

And remember: a chocobo chick can start out with colored tips, but it can also loose them before hitting adult, if I remember correctly.

It's plain. I have the worst luck. I'm going to give up breeding my own and just get cards from people.

That's what I broke down and did on Telera. There was a nice Taru sitting out front selling male and female cards of every color. I got two blue, and bam, blue choco come adolescence. I was never lucky enough to get a color on my own. And was tired of wasting the time.

Before I quit, I gave my favorite little Taru buddy my blue choco's card, because he wanted a blue chocobo in the worst way. I really hope he found another blue card, or got lucky and got a blue one. Jinx was probably one of the nicest people I've known in any MMO, he deserved a blue choco.

You guys forget I'm a WHM main. I can teleport mmyself anywhere I want to go in order to ride a chocobo.

Just a bit of information, the "personality" string ("Well-suited for military use") is determined by statistical differentials during its early years. It becomes "set" after it gets older and determines how well the chocobo performs on the high-level training activities. For example, a military chocobo like yours will not do well at Digging for Treasure.

You can tell that it's not related to color by forcing it to change--you can "flip" a baby chocobo's personality by switching its care plan.
