Ok so I hear alot about this and after searching the Wiki I find a little bit of info that is somewhat confusing to me. I don't think I am at a high enough lvl to access these areas, so can someone please explain these to me or at least post a link better than what wiki has

The Tu'Lia Region is nicknamed "sky" because its in the sky.
The Al'Taieu Region (unmapped) is nicknamed "sea" because it resembles the ocean.

Sky is accessed by completing Zilart mission 13
Sea is accessed by completing CoP chapter 7

your level doesn't really matter, as long as you can complete the missions. I got Sky at about lv60 (although that's a little low, a low mage isn't a huge loss since most people doing these are over lv70), the BCNM fight for Sea is about the same. Of course, there's not really much to do there but look around until the late 60s or early 70s.

And a minor correction to bbq's post, they aren't named like that because of their location, it's because nobody freaking remembers the proper name. Tu'Lia was called Sky for a long time because of that, and it was only logical for Al'Taieu to follow that. they're short terms, easy to spell, and easy to put into the autotranslator.

Also, "sky" and "sea" are used to refer not only to the areas themselves, but to the endgame activities that take place there. For Tu'Lia, that would be the gods (Kirin and the various other NMs and activities that must be done to spawn him), and for Al'Taieu it would be the Jailers (and AV if your LS happens to be the dev team)

is it really a correction when the correction doesn't take place?

I thought Al'Taieu was referred to as "sea" because it was located in the Sea of Shu'Meyo.

I miss when people used to use "Moon".

I think the real reason endgame places like sky and sea get named that way is because the terms are readily available in the auto-translator. The outdoor region of Tu'Lia (Ru'Aun Gardens) looks like it's floating in the sky, hence the nickname. The outdoor region of Lumoria (Al'taieu) looks like an Andy Warhol impression of a crystallized ocean, hence the "sea" nickname.

As for "moon" - that's everything to do with the fact that you need a moongate pass to access the areas in question - and it translates correctly as well. :)

Haha, that's win. :P

At your level I wouldn't be concerned too much with getting sea, as you really won't do jack up there. You may want to consider getting sky access before 70 though, I had some good xp parties on my WHM up there on my way to 75.

Actually, I'd highly consider getting sea and finishing that out just for the ease of sky access that unlocks. I'd kill to be far enough on CoP that I could use the green teleporters and the 2nd device in Hall of Transference to get to and from Sky. Plus, finishing both unlocks the ability to do Bahamut's BC for his nice items... AKA SMN's "Here's your 7 inventory slots back" staff.

Some of us still do.

Although the first time I heard about it I thought it was something completely different.

I really appreciate all of the post on this. Although i have been palying for a while I still have yet to get my Main high enough to experience any of these areas. I finally just this week defeated the ShadowLord so Iam definately working on getting access to these areas in the near future. First I gotta go lvl my substo 37 so I can finish taking RDM to 75.
