Gah, screw it, I was being lazy.

I just read guides for both jobs.

Some gracious mod, euthanize this display of torpidity.

75 RNG and COR here.

RNG is going to be more focused on pure damage dealing with a light amount of enfeebling via status bolts when you use crossbows. RNG will use all forms of ranged weapons while COR only has access to guns. COR is going to have gunplay, but also buffs to deal out and also the ability the enhance enfeebles mages cast, so they want to keep an eye out for those.

Both jobs work well in PTs, but also require good funding and resources to maintain, some CORs will try to take the easy way out and never use thier guns and only buff and sub /WHM to cure. While there is nothing wrong with that approach in the early levels, it only creates gear conflicts the higher you go, not to mention ruins half the fun of the job. I constantly see CORs running around in a mish-mash of melee and mage gear, which damages thier DD potential.

RNG is going to be a natural subjob of choice for COR, along with NIN, WHM, BLU, RDM or DNC as they're needed. DNC offersl the curative ability of WHM in the 30+ world, but none of the gear conflicts - you just use the same melee gear as if you were /RNG - so I find this a better option for the COR that wants to go full support in a EXP PT. /NIN is for pulling, /RDM /BLU and /BLM are used for support and boosting Quick Draw damage. /WHM is passable for full support at low levels and a respectable endgame subjob, though RDM can sometimes be of greater benefit.

For RNG, your subjob focus should be on NIN, WAR and SAM. All of these subjobs offer RNG great tools. /NIN allows RNG to attain its highest accuracy and survivability, /WAR offers RNG its greatest damage potential and /SAM falls right in between, allowing for greater TP gain as well as damage mitigation abilities.

Both jobs are also very good for mission based content and high level content as well. RNG will pretty much always be a raw DD job, while COR can get really flexible later in its career, but is better focused in melee during EXP levels.

You're super awesome.

So now I'm going to probably do RNG, since I've already got two subs in mind anyways- SAM and WAR. COR will probably be after RNG though.
