Joining Bahamut

Hey, I'm going to be joining Bahamut... I've already decided I wanted to be a BLM to begin with and work for a Summoner. But I have a couple of questions...

1) Where would be best for me to begin?
2) Is there anything I should do before going out and battling?

You'll need to level WHM as support job for Summoner. At least, you should. In some parties, Scholar would be a nice alternative. Black Mage just isn't an appropriate support job for SMN for the most part.

1) Where would be best for me to begin?
Any of the three cities would be fine; whichever place you like the best. I know Windurst has shops which sells low level mage weapon/gears, so that'll work if you don't have a preference.


2) Is there anything I should do before going out and battling?
Get an appropriate weapon. Seems like you're interested in mages, so that means a staff. Check monster before you hit it; "Incredible Tough" means very short fight with you flat on the ground, K.O.'ed. Generally, you'll want "Even Match" or lower opponents.

Later one, when you party, you'll want to switch to club/wands with appropriate INT and MND stats.
