PlayOnline - POL: 1160

-Just pointing out, that I do not have the game at the moment. I'm simply downloading PlayOnline so that I can be ready for when I do get it.

- I have a Netgear wireless router (not sure if we're actually using it as a wireless router though).

Yes, another one. So sue me, I'm a n00b when it comes to computing and programming, and anything related.

Okay, like in many cases, as soon as I start PlayOnline (myself having Vista), it seems okay. Then I click "Next" on the "Setup>Version Update" screen, and I get POL: 1160. Now, I have no idea what to do. I'm not sure if I should use a proxy server (since Windows doesn't have one), and if so I have no idea how to configure it.

Could anybody be able to help me out here?

I am Guessing you have the playonline viewer installed and not the FFxi game. Without the game installed you can not perform a version update.

Ya I'm not sure what you're trying to do by downloading the POL viewer without actually having the game, but I'm willing to bet any errors you get from POL are because of that fact.

The only advice I can give is to just buy XI and install that POviewer, most probably the PO you have is corrupted or exspecially when downloading something may of been lost or damaged.

Updates are exspecially difficult because they look for certain files and if those files aren't there then it won't work.
