so i quit whan WoW came out, love the game but it will never hold a place in my heart like FFXI, but im in a bit of a dilemma, i let a friend play ny account and he kinda ransacked my chars for all his gear and sold it all, i really didnt mind since i wasnt playing but now that i have nothing on my main on Odin server, is it worth trying to build back up from there or starting completey new on another server, maybe a more populated one? im note sure how many still play on Odin anymore, if anyone has any advice or have a server they play on, let me know and ill send ya a tell once updates are done and maybe we can grp up together! =D

If nothing else, it's worth sticking with the character you have, even if they don't have any gear. You'll basically be starting from scratch, but without the annoyance of having to re-do certain quests and missions.
Unless you want to do those, that is.
You could always pay for a world transfer if you want to try a new server without abandoning your character. But really, most servers are the same. And Odin is pretty damn populous, so I'm not sure how you expect to find more people elsewhere.

According to FFXIAH.com (http://www.ffxiah.com) Odin is still pretty big. I wouldn't suggest creating a new character, because even though a clean slate is nice, you'd have to repeat the subjob quest, you'd have to re-level crafting, you'd have to get access for Kazham again (Well, if you haven't already that is), etc. etc. etc.

The only awkwardness is going to be not having the gear that goes with your current level ... but it's faster farming for the gil than it is to level up, THEN farm for gil as well.

I agree with them ^. Maybe try starting with an un-leveled job to get back into it?

This is the best advice if you decide to play your current character. Level a new job that you can use to get back into the swing of things, and also slowly build some funds. Level several jobs from 1 to 10 and you'll be banking the gil.
