Good day everyone,

I am a returning player. Due to losing my registration codes and playonline id I will have to start from the beginning. So I was looking to see what server had the most hispanic players around. I was interested in joining a spanish speaking linkshell.

Anyone has any information?

Maybe this is an odd question, but why didn't you write that in Spanish? I mean, wouldn't a Spanish title immediately attract people who speak that language?

True, but I wanted to be respectful of the community in this forums as most of the guys speak english. I figure that if someone is playing FFXI they might as well speak english or japanese:)

I honestly don't think I ever saw someone speaking Spanish the entire time I played FFXI, except for people using spanish words in english conversation, or people who already spoke english just fine.

If you want to speak Spanish,FFXI probably isn't the game for you.

I've heard of Spanish LS's, can't tell you on what server though.

You know Feba, the neat thing about an international game, not everyone speaks English.

Mhurron, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that's how it should be. I just haven't seen people speak Spanish in FFXI. If there are Spanish LS, they're probably nowhere near "big".

I dunno, I could have swore I've heard of a Spanish dynamis LS. It's been a while though so I dunno if I'm not remembering right or if I am, if they're still around.

That's very possible. If it's still around, good for them. FFXI doesn't really make it easy for small groups to get together, though. It's gotten better since world passes were killed off, but it's still got more problems than most other games would.

ROFLMAO, while I was reading your posts I thought that you were joking O.o I'm not used to read these things.
Actually, I am playing in Ragnarok server, and there are TONS of spanish people here, at least 1/5 of the server is Spanish, 2/5 is Japanese and the remaining 2/5 are european and american people (btw, spanish is usually a synonym of noob, cuz valkurm dunes is full of them xD, and we tend to generalize)... there are lots of social linkshells spanish-onry and a few spanish HNMLS that are important in Ragnarok too, like Chocobogordo and SleepingForest. If you want spanish people, just come in Ragnarok.

Didn't they release regional versions of FFXI in Germany and Spain? Granted, if you're a US-based Spanish speaker that won't help you out a great deal unless you work / play at odd hours.

FFXI has been localized to Japanese, English, German and French (real French).

Mhurron: As opposed to imitation french?

As opposed to the hacking up a lung they call French in Quebec.

Why would anyone want to call their language French at all? That requires associating yourself with France.

I am studying French. :O

I am studying Spanish. I am also of Mexican descent, but that's just a couple of generations up on my father's side.

Also, if you ever saw me, at first glance, you could never tell it. But it's true.

I remember when i used to play there was a linkshell called Tequila in Valefor and in Odin there was one called LatinosForce. It was a medium size linkshell (probably between 40-50 people).
I havent found their page so I dunno if they are still active. So before I make the leap of going into the game I wanted to get the feedback on that.

@FEBA: I didnt know World passes where killed. I know they now offer a character transfer service, but no more world passes?

When you create a new character, you can pick whichever World that suits your fancy.

I saw Chinese pingying more often than I see Spanish on Ifrit. For whatever the reason, I used to get /tell's from RMTs quite a bit in the past, so that may have skewed my perspectives. ._.;
