I'm pretty new to XI and I was wondering what kinds of armor, food, weapons, etc. would be best for a level 25-50 elvaan COR. What I need to boost the most is ranged accuracy and agility (because elvaans have the worst stats in both areas >_>).

Any suggestions?

theres a website called somepage (I can't post links) that has a really good database on food affects. You can look up food by what status it boosts and stuff like that. Go there and click on food effects link, then look at the ranged accuracy and agility boosting foods.

Canned "See a website" BS reply not withstanding, here are some real answers.

First off, always keep updated on your rings. Bone > Beetle > Horn > Scorpion > Behemoth Rings. You'll periodically upgrade these every 10 or 20 levels. Get the HQ versions of each tier if available, as they're still fairly cheap. If you stay dilligent with CoP/ToA missions, you can persue Rajas Ring and Jalzhan's Ring later to replace these and rid yourself of the nasty melee accuracy penalty on these rings.

Level 35 - Grab a pair of Drone Earrings for +6 AGI. Alternatively, if you have a RNG sub levelled (and you should) you can grab +3 Ranged Accuracy from Beater's Earring latent effect at level 30. You can also get Gun Belt at level 30, which will grant you an additional +5 Marksmanship skill if you sub RNG (hint hint).

Level 40 you'll have Quick Draw, AGI gear is good for this, so be sure to have some AGI rings to macro in to ensure your Quick Draws are always accurate

The low-end Hexaguns are worth having and you'll get a lot of milage out of Trump Gun, your quested AF1 gun. This is good til level 56, by which time you should switch over to Matchlock gun for better damage. After that, keep your eyes on getting a Peacemaker, along with a Martial Gun or Coffinmaker.

Body Armor - COR gets a pretty sweet Deal on Noct armor at level 30. Hands, Body, Legs and Feet are nice and they will last you til AF level. COR AF Hands and legs aren't terribly impressive, though, so stick with the Noct Pieces until you can replace them with thier Jaridah equivilant. At 61, you can drop Jaridah Hands for Deadeye Gloves, which are your best hand option until you can equip a Joyeuse, after that look into Dusk, Pahluwan or Crimson Finger Gauntlet (this is a sky abjuration piece, though).

Pre-AF, best headpiece is Empress Pin for the +3 AGI, after that Corsair's Tricorn is your best headpiece til you can get an Optical Hat, though I still use Tricorn for weaponskill and Quick Draws.

AF is good til Pahluwan set from Assaults become available. If you're not into endgame by then, I certainly would suggest Pahluwan Body, hands, legs and feet. There are actually several options for feet and hands at this level, but these are decent ones.

Food - Around your level I used Flounder Meuniere for both RNG and COR and I liked it, Courel Subs aren't bad, either. At 40+ I moved to Squid Sushi to ensure best overall accuracy and Quick Draw accuracy as well.

Not sure if it matters for Corsair, but FFXIAH's "Power Search" (http://www.ffxiah.com/power_search.php) will give more complete results than Somepage.

I'm guessing that there aren't many (any?) equipment you can buy to enhance a low level COR's buffing ability much, but for its secondary function, damage output, you'd want a lot of range accuracy gear. Searching in FFXIAH's DB will give you some idea of what's available with that stat.

Job presence enhances our buffs, no equipment influences the potency of those buffs at this time. The only piece of of equipment to have any influence on our buffs is Luzaf's Ring, obtainable at 40 with Superior Private rank in Assault.

But its really only useful for when you need to hit everyone with a particular buffs. Luzaf's ring widens the radius of a buff to hit people more easily, which isn't really something you need to worry about when you want a clear divide between mages and melee to start with.

Luzaf's Ring is really for stuff like Evoker's Roll in BLM PTs at high level, in which you can hit everyone with the buff. Also nice for Corsair's Roll when you have a BRD and PT and can drop another buff for Corsair's Roll, but I don't have much of a use for the ring otherwise. Its strictly a situational macro piece.

OMG: That was funny...
Nicasin: How the F*** did you get 4 thanks and can't post links yet...?!

So, how'd you get to lv 30, unlock COR, and then get to 25, and still be new?
