View Full Version : Blocked Java Problem

My security system "AT&T Internet Security" blocked Java and I cannot see things like animated gifs. I can still see videos though. It's been going on for a long while, but I finally got a little annoyed at not seeing animated gifs and such. I turned it back to "allow" but the problem still continues. At the moment, my security system is inactive. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for reading!
Side note: I also heard NoScript blocks Java by default. Maybe the solution to unblock it is similar to my problem if anyone knows.
(Also, does a "Frequently Asked Question" have to be FFXI-related?)

Animated gifs are not Java based. Animated gifs are simply pictures compiled together to make the image move. Over all, .gifs in general are just regular images like .jpgs, .pngs, etc.
You should check your browser configuration by going to Tools --> Options --> Advanced and see if anything related to images are not selected. If they're not selected then select them and restart your browser. This should fix the problem. If not, run a scan on your computer to see if you need to clean up the spyware, adaware and such.
(Side note to mods: probably should be moved to Computers section... they could help a lot more with this?)
