Updating - Faster way?

Hi, It will take 6 hours for me to Update Final Fantasy XI before i can play it. So is there a reason it takes so long and is there any other site that you can download a manual update to install my self.

I believe it depends on what kind of internet connection and computer you have.

I can update all other MMORPGs easly is around 10 minutes at maximum and my Broadband Connection is 6.5mb, so i thinking maybe some Router settings is slowing it down.

never, ever use other MMOs as your basis for FFXI again.

That only ends in pain.

Of course, it also depends on which release of the game you have. The more recent releases already include many of the updates on disc, saving you some time when going through the patching process. If you plan on installing the game frequently, having to remove it from your system every now and again, for whatever reason, it may be worth purchasing one of the latest. (i.e. the 2007 or 2008 compilations)

If you already have one of those -- it still takes 6 hours?

I waited anyway, did it while i was out today.
I got the version with 2 expansion packs included. Also i get my speed limitied between 6pm - 10pm or 11pm on monday to fridays due to being classed as a heavy user.

thanks you saved me alot of spamming ^^ i have decided to make a return to vana'diel and wanted to no if i brought the new Wings of a Goddess would most the old patches that where out before that would be on the new expansion thankies ^^:)
