Hello ! Coming back to Vana'diel after being gone for a few months - well, since April. Or February. AT any rate, I have since gotten the expansion, and unlocked Dancer and Scholar. I may level those for a while, just so I do not feel so left out. My questions are primarily about levelling and economy (money making)

1) Have any of the levelling spots changed ? I left in part because of the huge bottle neck in Khazham/Yhoatoar/Yhutunga from 25-30. No one levelled anywhere else it seemed, and I could not find a party for days there, especially once I got my BLM to 29....

2) How is the economy ? Have prices gone down ? Up ? Is it still worth it to fish or learn a craft ? I wanted to buy trees and tree cuttings for a gardening mule. Is that still a good option ?

3) Have prices for spells gone down ? I try to buy NPC wherever possible, but sometimes, you just can't do that....

4) Also, concerning soloability : has anything major changed ? I felt like I was stuck with a ton of mage gear and nothing to show for it when I was stranded in the jungles looking for a party. I am still looking for a BLM solo guide Iread about in another thread. Is there anything else I should know about ?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer, and I hope to see you guys again soon !

You can check out ffxiah (http://www.ffxiah.com/index.php) to see how the AH is doing on your server, but I don't think much has changed since you left. Same goes for the other things you mentioned.

There are probably a lot of BLM solo guides out there, but here's one of them: Black Mage Solo Guide by Lion heart (http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Black_Mage_Solo_Guide_by_Lion_heart)

You really should get the Kazham Airship pass if you want to keep leveling. There's no way around it--those are the places where everyone wants to go around those levels.

Yes, I already have the pass - I have been there, and got stuck for days there waiting for a party. I have also noticed the guide that the above guy posted, and will definitely check that out. In general I want to level all the mage jobs anyway.....

Well, at least I know that part has not changed... shame, really. Oh well...

Any more thoughts on the economy ? For instance, does it still cost 650k+ to max out cooking ?

Ah, I misunderstood; sorry about that.

On Ifrit (World) on Sunday (~2:10 p.m. PST):
- 53 people Lv.27-31
- 6 people Lv.27-31 seeking party
- 1809 people online, total.

Parties at your level are not plentiful by any measure, but it doesn't look impossible, either, to level your BLM.

Ah.... that explains a lot, actually ! In all seriousness, I wondered if there are so many people who levelled so high past me, that there might be a glut of level 60s and simply not enough people at the low levels. I am shocked to read that one server already has a level 50 Scholar (WTF!?!?!)

...but, no worries. The solo guide actually has a lot of possibilities I have not considered. Lots of "forgotten" places in the Old World.... Between that and the new jobs, I think I will be fine for now...

While the data is definitely not yet in for a lot of it, WotG seems to be bringing in a wealth of potential xp mobs across a wide range of levels. I suspect that once people really have their bearings on camps, you may be able to drag people in that level range out to North Gustaberg [S], East Ronfaure [S], or West Sarutabaruta [S] in particular. The lack of a single central hub for organizing parties might hurt, but the fact that people can teleport from their past city of allegiance to any past zone they've been means there's good transportation potential even so.
