Quest to raise Norg fame for NIN scroll quest

Was hoping to get some help in this area. I have a lvl 10 nin that I want to lvl to sub for my RDM. I have not touched this job in a while due to tha fact that I do not have any nin scrolls and cannot afford to buy then in AH. I spend all my gil on mage scrolls for RDM,WHM, and BLM. But Everytime I go to norg I do not have the fame required to start the quest for the nin scrolls. What is the best way/ fastest way to raise my norg fame. Also is there any quest with which to earn a little gil while raisig my norg fame??

A Job for the Consortium (http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/A_Job_for_the_Consortium) might not be worth the travel time for the reward if you're looking for profit.

The two quests that'll get you there the fastest are Mihgo's Amigo (http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Mihgo%27s_Amigo) and Shady Business (http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Shady_Business). Neither one is profitable if you buy the items at the AH. Both of them are if you farm the necklaces or mine the ore yourself. Generally necklaces drop faster (especially with treasure hunter) than you'll mine ore, but mining will get you lots of other ore to sell/synth for profit.

it might take a lil longer to get the fame but i'd stick with farming yag necklaces...this way you don't have to buy pick axes to mine with and it can get expensive because you can't just specifically mine for Zinc ore...

With necklaces...its a drop a lil better if you're strapped for gil...Or the Stone worms outside of bastok can drop doobious amounts of zinc ore at times...The tunnel worms in guiddeus will drop zinc ore aswell...

This quest is a pain -- I've been farming for about 6-ish hours and I'm 1/4 the way there if there. But I get distracted easily, haha.
