What Race Should I Play?

Ok, well I couldn't find this topic anyware. Anyway, I would like to know what race I should pic to start playing FFXI. I was first thinking about being a Tarutaru, then I got to thinking about being a Mithra, then I was wandering if I should be a Hume,Elvaan, or Galka. In all I am confused about what race I should be, does anyone have a site that shows all of their stats for each job? etc...please help thanks!

Pick the race you'd like to be, that's all ... you can make up for stats to some extent, and anybody can be anything.

The answer to most basic questions like this (stats etc.) is FFXIClopedia (http://ffxiclopedia.org).

Pick whatever race you like the best. The stats end up not being too much of a concern later on. Gear etc. can even it out quite a bit, and odds are you're not going to end up only playing one kind of job, so picking a race with good mage stats is just going to end up reversing on you when you decide to play a DD, and vice versa.

Yeah, I love my hume female (hell, I wish I looked like her and not the fatass I am now!) but the way she walks drives me kind of crazy, she shakes her butt far too much when she runs. Though hume males do it too, so I'm glad I didn't go with that cause it just looks gay.

I like Galkas too. They've got big laps that a Tarutaru can /sit in and look right at home.

But otherwise, yeah, whichever rear end you can stand looking at for years on end is the race you should pick. :)

I wouldn't trade my Tarutaru for the world though (and hongman should go look at my latest Convert ratio pic and see if he can still say Elvaan are the best ;) ).

I picked Elvaan but i would really like to have chosen GALKA i dont really like playing mage jobs so the lack of mp wouldnt bother me. I just like galka because they seem dumb slow kinda funny and the armor looks sweet on them.

Take a closer look at the models. The only race with a penis in this game is Goblin.

Actually, I think you've made a really strong case that my guide can use more consistency for the RDM section; I'm about 95% ready to take out /DRK for RDM.

Not the solo'ing part, though, since it is a distinguishing feature of RDM, and solo-ability in general really isn't that dependent on support job used. (While the soloing style is, of course--RDM just has a lot of tools to do the job in different ways.) Red Mage really is that good.

Now, express your admiration for Mithra. (Feel free to substitute jealousy if you can't be honest with your feelings.)

Well, sounds good to me. If you're not going to add /NIN, removing /DRK also accomplishes the goal of consistency.

Mithra's best feature? Gotta be the mesmerizing tail swinging. I recently even made another mule, Mithra, just to stare at the tail when Im bored.

Naturally the first thing I did was /toss all the RSE and she is naked :thumbsup:
