No.
P.S. I'm not being an ass; they haven't announced a release date for the '08. Don't count on one soon though.

What? I don't recall posting a url, only thing I did was quote you. (does a quote count as a url?) LOL All that I said was thanks for the help Ameroth.
Was just curious if the registration code from the 2008 collection for xbox360 or ps2 could be used to create a new account to be used on the PC. As it would be cheaper then buying the 2007 collection + the new expansion.

As long as you have the account active you can use it on any platform PC, 360 or PS2.

FFXI accounts are not machine specfic. You can take your username and password and play anywhere there's a client. It doesn't matter what machine you put those into...

You can't download the game. You can download PoL, maybe, since there are Vista-specific versions, but not the game itself.
If you had another source for installing the game, yes, you could register with the PS2 codes as long as they're for the same region. "Another source" has varying degrees of legitimacy, though.

i think i may look around and see if i cant find the 20 dollar 3 pack or whatever it is and just buy it lol. from what ive seen buddy passes are few and far between, so it would be easier :) although if someone has one, i will gladly take it off your hands and give you the one i get if i decide to play lol.

And boxes! Dont forget boxes! I love the artwork done on these, seriously.... if you want to see more of the artists work go find a SandMan trade-paperback done by Neil Gaiman. Regardless of the Full game+expansion+expansion+expansion I've bought each expansion solo just for the artwork >.>
I have a random feeling that they will release the '08 collection around the same time that FFXIII decides to come out, or a few months before.
