Hello Dreams Community,

I'm a returning FFXI player who's been away for about 4 years. I just picked up the 2007 collection for old times sake and had a few questions.

1. Are any of the new zones that come with the expansions appropriate for lower level characters to adventure in, or are they all for hight level characters?

2. Can I pick which server I want to play on or is it randomly assigned?

1. Depends on your definition of "low-level." RotZ has areas 25ish and up, CoP has level-capped areas 30ish and up. ToAU is basically all high-level.

2. You can pick any server you want. No more World Passes required.

To add to what Ellipses said, ToAU is pretty much high level but you'll be able to start XPing there around 53-54ish, so it's not extreme high level.

Also, it's become the epicenter for pretty much all shouting nowadays, so asking for high level help for something might be easier from Whitegate than from Jeuno, though you don't necessarily have to do that.

It's also worth noting that while TOAU is higher level, you may want to have it around the time you ding 30, if you have any interest in Blue Mage, Corsair or Puppetmaster.

Thank you all for your help. Being away from this game for so long pretty much makes me a newbie so your advice is greatly appreciated!

Are most of the people who frequent this forum from one particular server or is it pretty much a mix?

Well there's a linkshell based off this forum on Kujata, but a lot of us populate many servers. I, myself, am on Hades, and I'd be glad to welcome you there. :)

Well I tried a few servers (including Hades) and the only one I found that didn't already have a Croix was Kujata. So, that's where I ended up. I will be playing very casually over the next month to see if I get back into the game. If there are any casual/social linkshells out there looking for members give me a shout.

I will be playing very casually over the next month to see if I get back into the game. If there are any casual/social linkshells out there looking for members give me a shout.
