Is this a discussion? A question? You kind of already answered it.

Shouldn't there be a rule that more than two words, and actual punctuation is required for an OP?

Buying Gil is against the TOS. Chances are that if you are caught, you could be banned.

lol didn't someone make a topic like this recently?

Don't buy gil cause it makes you a bastard that no one likes. You can, and possibly will get banned, so if you want to risk it cause you're too lazy to farm, then go ahead, be a fucktard. :D It's not smart, and not worth it, and fuels what everyone hates; RMT.

So, please don 't do it, it's a stupid idea, and you can get banned, save your parent's money. :D

Seriously WTF is up with these stupid questions? Isn't it obvious that buying any form of currency on any MMORPG will get you banned? Can someone get me a Flamethrower with a gasoline dispenser attached to it. I feel like cleansing the world of idiots.

kind of ironic that you want to flame both ways, but I am asking a simple question since I read of all the bannings recently

Technically, that's not true. A number of MMOs sell thier own ingame currency; mostly the free MMOs you see advertised on various sites, and that's the company's primary source of income off the game.

However, I don't think the OP meant that in his post. Or course it's hard to tell and it's very short, and doesn't define a particular point.

---

SE is amping up thier little task force to catch more and more of RMT activity; and the likelyhood of someone buying gil getting caught is increasing with each series of bans. Up to this point, most of the infringments have been dealt with temporary bans with strict instructions that purchasing gil is against the ToS. But as they begin to lessen the number of gil farmers they will begin looking to the buyers to create less need for gil sellers to exist at all.

In short: There is a very distinct chance that you will be caught and either temporarily (3 day and permanent record) or permanently banned for purchasing gil.

Still. It doesn't hurt to actually research your question first. Not only does it explicitly state in the FFXI ToS that RMT is a banable offense, there are more than enough topics posted not only here, but on every other FFXI-related forum out there. In fact, on page two of the General Discussion forum (http://www.ffxionline.com/forums/general-ffxi-discussion/index2.html) there is a topic 3 pages long on this question.

Short answer (because I don't want to repeat myself): Yes.

uh, have you really looked at other MMOs? Plenty of them allow you to buy currency, as mentioned, and some of them allow you to (effectively) sell/buy from other players, such as EVE.

anyway, Gil selling is prohibited by the ToS, and there is a good chance you will get banned if caught-- and there is a good chance you will be caught as well. RMT used to be much more common, to the point where it was hard to meet people that hadn't done it, but with the STFU the situation has changed.

Keep in mind the official acronym is STF for Special Task Force. SE has never called them a unit to my knowledge...but some people like to use STFU anyways... >.>;

STFU for evah!

But you know they want to.

This is mainly in response to Kailea...as I detest almost every single one of his posts, his avatar is ass-face ugly, and his sig is retarded as well. And kinda derailing I guess.

Where the hell is this ignore function I see people talk about? Cause I want to ignore him, but all I see is report. Can anyone help?

Original question answered, locking thread. Not excusing the rudeness but you'd get a better reception here if you went to the slightest effort to make an OP that actually communicates what kind of answers you want, or in the case of the macro thread what your question is.
