How do i find where to place certain .dats?

Is there a list or something that would show me where to place certain .dats? If i open the files it all comes up a symbols and other such nonesence.

The tool Modelviewer gives you the chance to preview the models and also shows the place of the DATs.

Note that the numbers you see when you load a model are the location.

For example:
1-131-34.dat

This would lead to
(game install path)\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ROM\131\34.dat

So the first # is the ROM# folder (ROM1 being just ROM), the second number is the folder in the ROM# folder (so in the example it'd be the folder named 131) and the 3rd number is the dat file name (34.dat in this example).
