"Return to Vana'diel" Timeline

To those that have submitted an application to have their characters restored through the "Return" program, how long does the process normally take? Assuming that I fill out the request on Tuesday (9/25), when can I expect to hear back?

don't fill out on tuesday, you'll be charged the full months fee for just 5 days of service. fill out on oct 2 after the reg server maintenance.

that being said, if it's like a normal restore, it'll take up to 5 business days.

Thanks for the reply! Another question...should I open up a character slot on the account that I want the character returned to?

It's instant, you go to the website, do what they say (enter data, log to POL and purchase IDs for the characters), then you select which characters you want restored on a list on the webpage and you get them on your account instantly, and you can log in and play right away! So all in all it takes like, 10 minutes.
