I was looking up info on the bcnm's and came across the lvl 50 bcnm "3,2,1..." in Waughroon Shrine, but there was no strategy for it on ffxiclopedia. The only thing it says is you have 60 sec to kill a time bomb with 9,999 hp(or else everyone takes 9,999 damage). The only other thing it says is that the bomb will not aggro until it explodes.
I am wondering:
1) if anyone has actually beaten this bcnm, and if so what was the set-up(not so much worried about the equipt or gear)
or
2) what would be an ideal set-up to face a lvl 50 bcnm time bomb to be able to kill it in 1 min(I figured it out to be 170 damage/sec)?

Wild guesses, but, how about:
Multiple RDM's using Chainspell + Fire II?
NIN + BLM x5, using -ton Ninjutsu to lower resist, and coordinated tier II -ga nuking with matching element?
BLU x6 spamming?

I remember hearing years ago that this was done with a couple sams making fusion back and forth while some rdms chainspell MBed Fire II. Never ended up doing it myself since the drops are trash for 50 seals.

I'm starting to think that the drops for most of the bcnm's are not that good. I just beat Treasures and Tribulations and only got the Kampher ring(sorry if I spelled it worng) and the scroll of freeze and 1.7k gill. It was an easy 20k in gill(if everything sells) but it seems like if you beat a lvl 50 bcnm you should get around 50k in drops(1k per lvl).

Jungle Boogey Man is the best BC IMO.
You are guranteed 2 torques along with whatever else drops, and the enfeebling torque is usually a very high seller (over 800k on my server last I checked)

It was an easy 20k in gill(if everything sells) but it seems like if you beat a lvl 50 bcnm you should get around 50k in drops(1k per lvl). It's random. Instead of the Kampher ring there's a chance you could've gotten a Sorcerer's Ring which goes for 1.3M on my server or a Minstrel's Ring which goes for 700k. That BC can drop 15 job rings, so figure there's about a 1 in 15 chance of getting a specific one.
I figure it like this. Take all the money drops and divide their value by the odds of them dropping. That's the average amount of can expect to make per run if you spam the BC over and over again. So for T+T (2.1M / 15) + (700k / 15) = ~133k. Then divide by the number of seals. (~133k gil/ 50 seals) = 2667 gil per seal.
I like to do Under Observation since my friends and I have gotten really lucky on PCC drops (2.1M). The general consensus is the drop rate is around 5%, with I figure a 20% chance to drop Ni for 300k. (2.1M / 20) + (300k / 5) = ~165k. It's a BCNM40 so (~165k / 40) = ~4125 gil per seal.
My friend likes Wild Wild Whiskers better because the odds are more even. You will get either a Penitent's Rope (350k) or a Walkure Mask (55k), and a Yhoat or Mea ring (8.5k, 20k). Leaving the math out this time, that's about 217k per run on average, and since it's a BCNM60 that works out to about 3612 gil per seal.
Jungle Boogeymen looks pretty darn good since Dark, Enfeebling, Elemental, Evasion and Wind Torques are all highly valued. The average value of the torques that drop here is ~233k, and since two always drop you can figure on ~467k per run average assuming each has an equal chance of loading. That's already ~7795 gil per seal before even counting the elemental ores as possible drops.
Wow, thanks for the tip Malacite. What's the strat for that? SMN > BLM > NIN > THF and just sleepga the ones you're not fighting?

I wonder how well summon kiting could be done w/ 5 SMNs + some kind of refresh.

Would a bunch of SMNs having Shiva 2Hr work?
