Do you play Tetramaster? I haven't seen many people talk about it much, but I HAVE seen this great idea TaskMage came up with in this thread: http://www.ffxionline.com/forums/ask-squareenix-questions/65138-would-you-consider-making-tetramaster-playable-within-ffxi.html?highlight=Tetramaster

It talks about Tetramaster being played within FFXI. The benefit of this is when you're lfp and you want something to do while you're sitting in a place closest to the area you would be invited to. So, why not Tetramaster? The only problem that I can see with it is that when you DO get an invite while playing Tetramaster, you'd unfortunately have to end the game or you might be a little "into" it that you don't care about your pt invite while you're playing Tetramaster. Although, I'm gonna get back to the main part.

Do you play Tetramaster?

My thoughts: From what I've seen, very little people play it and so there would be little complaints about the gameplay of it. Meaning, SE wouldn't really update it if we happen to find something we don't like about (or may there's just nothin wrong with it altogether anyway). It's like NO ONE talks about anything of it. No competition. No "I want to battle you in a card game" sayings. Nothin related that I've heard of. It just seems wasteful to let it sit there if no one's doing anything even though we don't HAVE to continue to pay for Tetramaster, but maybe SE could do somethin to encourage people to try it out more or make it more interesting. If people actually do play it, then that's cool. Maybe I just haven't caught any word of it from my view.

I do not play Tetra Master. No.

The last virtual card game I paid for was Pokemon Trading Card Game for the Game Boy. That was pretty fun, and it didn't require a monthly fee.

I used to play tetra master a lot, especially when I first started. Tetra master was a lot less confusing than the game to me, since it's basically the same as the tetra master from ff9. But I started getting more into ffxi and eventually quit playing tetra master all together, except on the rare occasion. I decided it was time to make my 3rd mule one day, and I cancelled my tetra master in order to do that.

Would be kind of cool if tetra master was in-game, but I don't know how they would make it work.

lol! I remember that. It got lost somewhere though. :( But it was fun. Always wondered what happened to it. XD

But as for Tetra Master, I haven't played that yet. Too busy playing FFXI. >_>

What surprised me was the realization that someone considered Tetra Master popular enough to be included as it's own game in POL. I just didn't think it was that special. Apparently, the Japanese do.

Triple Triad > Tetra Master.

Cards that level up = instantly-broken card game.

Never once even tried it. Doesn't seem worth it for the content ID.

and when people think that your game isn't even worth one dollar, you've got problems.

You could play tetra master, just the cards should be rare/ex and only take up one slot of your inventary mainly so gill sellers don't get in on the act and play full time to get rare cards and sell them for millions to the stupid who would buy them.

Maybe they could set up a stall like choco racing where you go, collect your cards (when you leave the venue your cards are stored on your account and not in your inv.) Make it purely only able to get cards from playing certain level NPC players and PC's, hey you may even be able to have Maat s a high level player to get those extra rare cards. Basically it is the same as the current game but with access from an in game stall/room.

Never once played it.
I do appreciate that it is a separate installation. I can see people playing it say, during downtimes for servers. If it would even let you. Still not my bag though

I used to play it. I still have my content ID for it incase I want to go back, I kinda don't want to loose some of the good cards I won so I keep it around. :)

I only played it on the original NA beta version...and I coudn't see paying an extra $1 to play it when I got the retail. The main times I would play it back then were when POL was up but FFXI was down(for updates or what have you).

IT was abit too random for my taste...maybe if it was Triple Triad I'd be more inclined to mess with it...

one last thing: To this day my retail code for Tetra Master remains unused...and it'll probabaly stay that way...

It's not only that, it's just that when I have the time to be playing games (i.e. when the kids are sleeping/out with my husband/etc.) I want to be in FFXI and not on a card game.

I never played it on the FF servers, never really cared for it in FF9, I MUCH prefer Triple Triad.

Also, thanks to THIS little gem:

http://ttg.qhimm.com/

I can play Triple Triad whenever I want and even challenge other people if I were so inclined, and it's free, and I like it better than Tetra Master, and it has the Quistis card, so it's like a win win situation :P

All hail Quistis!

Thanks heaps for the Triple Triad, it works great! I've never tried Tetra Master though I probably would if they had it ingame.

The two main problems with this is:

A> They implemented it all wrong.
B> They implemented the wrong game. Triple Triad or GTFO.

Even then, after trying both card games (and I am a fan of CCGs/TGCs), I really wasn't enthused by either of them. Not sure why, but I just couldn't get into either of them; either just boring, or the rules seemed arbitrary for one reason or another, or they simply weren't explained well enough, etc.

That, and the fact that I'd imagine that looking around for an opponent would take a bit of time as much as LFP if this was implemented (for whatever reason). Sure, it'd be all the rage for the first month or so after release (zOMG Triple/Tetra so on and so forth), but like Ballista, only the hardcore/dedicated will continue, and the majority of the player base will go back to the usual grind.
