After spending ages to grab the Avatars for my 20 summoner, i have grown tired of mage jobs and have decided to ether level my dragoon again, or go back to my 37 monk.
I am aware of some benifits of both, but can anyone display there opinions/facts of which i should go for and why? Thanks

Monk can be very boring, 'cause all you do is stand and punch. The occasional JA and WS helps, but it's still fairly boring.
My DRG is only 10 personally, but I think it's fun. DRG has more variety than MNK, but prolly a tad bit less invites, due to misconceptions of the job.
Both are DD, and are similar in that you'll be seeking a lot. Choose one that you think looks coolest. Or level DRG to 37 as well, then pick from there.

Would thinking about being MNK/DRG and using (Chi Blast) in the middle of a (Super Jump) while /shout'ng "KAMEEEEHAMEEEE HAAAAA!" be too much? :P

That's actually a really freaking awesome idea. I want to go finish level'ing DRG just so I can do that now.

As alvl 28 mnk I must say it is a good job, you have high HP, good strength and can cause some kick ass damage compared to other DD jobs. (especially if you a Galka like me) Dragon means you can do more soloing with your wyvern, but I personally would choose monk.

Go monk!
If you're bored with mage jobs, I'm sure it will be fun to drop all the magic and just beat the crap out of something. :)

MNK ... hits stuff. That's pretty much MNK in a nutshell. Pretty straight-forward job.
DRG's a bit more versitile. They can shed hate placed on them, they have three modes for thier wyverns which are influenced by subjob and because of this, you can make solo things respectably as a DRG, cast a spell like Dia at 33% HP and the wyvern will heal you if you use a mage sub (doesn't work with /SMN tho, can only have one pet).
DRG requires a bit more subjob maitenence, though. WAR, SAM, THF, mage subs and even NIN can be beneficial in various situations. MNK's core subs are WAR, WHM and NIN for later levels in TP burn.
Overall DRG is better of you're looking for a busy job with more variety to it. MNK is just for the times you want to hit stuff.

That would be so cool i may try that someday
I have herd that come level 40, Galka monks have over or just about 1000hp without any enhacing equipment. Is this true?

If I unequip brick of all equipment at lvl 28 and have war as sub he has around 686HP according to wikipedia at level 75 (end game) Galka Monks with war sub has 1749Hp with no equipment or stat boosts, thats 109 more than its nearest race being Elvan.

Wow thats not a bad lot of hp. To me galkas make the better monks than elvans. I have about 895 hp with war subbed at the moment.

Actually, Monk's uber dps status doesn't come until higher levels. A decently equipped Dragoon will outdamage other melees 1-50 basically not even trying.
Even after that, a good Dragoon is going to stay near the tip of parses, mostly thanks to everyone being crazy about Colibri and other squishy mobs around level 55+ and the fact that DRG isn't a weak job anyways.
Soloing is a definate positive to leveling Dragoon, but it shouldn't be pushed to the forefront and the jobs only utility.

Lots of hp only really helps if you are tanking.
Mnk is a fun job and I would play it more if I had more time. Drg is also fun. My suggestion is to try out drg and if you start getting bored with, then go back to mnk. We could tell you all day long how cool both jobs are, but until you play then you won't know for yourself.

Silent Howler, that anime GIF is awesome!
Ok, back to the topic~
The art of DD MNK/WAR is to gear as much of damage output without getting yourself killed in exp. party. Is MNK fun or boring? It depends on how you play it. If the player "just stand there" and his mind is AFK, it can be boring. If the player is pushing the limit of the job and the party, I find that exciting.

So boring 99% of the time?

do whichever is more fun.
if you're looking with an eye toward: "which is more popular for stuff at 75?" that's monk, especially for merits.
but that's a long way away for you and if you like dragoon more than monk you'll just wind up wishing you'd leveled dragoon first anyway ; so do the one you find the most fun.

I have a feeling i am probebly going to stick with monk, as i do love smacking things sensless. Also lets be fair, the monks 2h is remarkable.

Sooner or later you will play both roles again. But I say monk because it's fun to imagine a summoner getting frustrated and just going "that's it" /throws down staff and punches goblin :P
