Can I use my old FFXI game?

yeah it is i think people charge £20 per expansion on ebay, where as for pc you can get all 3 and FFXI for just £20 alone ^^

Lol, one more question since you guys are around heh, when I took a break from FFXI couple years back, I was kind of a noob and I thought I heard you had to delete your character before canceling the account (/slap me). My question is, can I bring back my character? I remember hearing the "Welcome Back to Vana'diel" thing...

If you deleted it I wouldn't hold your breath. However if you have the POL account details and your billing info for that account, then you can call SE's customer service and give it a shot.

Yep, deleted characters are usually gone for good after a good length of time. Probably not worth the effort.

Remember, you NEVER need to delete characters OR cancel your POL account, JUST cancel the content IDs to stop getting charged.
