Does anybody know if there is any game cards for this so I don't have to use a credit card...
If so can someone tell me where to find some?

Thanks in advance!

No, there are none, but you might try using something like this: http://usa.visa.com/personal/cards/prepaid/visa_gift_card.html

It's basically a prepaid credit card.

lol, no love for Feba?

I think ePassporte (https://www.epassporte.com/) offers FFXI service, or at least they did at one point.

Also, hooray for Sinfest.

Thanks!
That ePassPorte doesn't provide FFXI services anymore, At least I don't think they do...

And also don't you need a pin number for the credit card payments?
Because it says most of the Visa gift cards don't have pin numbers...

You don't need a pin # for credit card payments. But Visa prepaid debit cards do have pin numbers.

all servers are the same.

Not entirely,
If you think about it every server is made of many diverse people who differ in many ways...
So technically the servers are not all the same...

Nope. All servers are the same.

To a new player, you won't notice the difference at all. The only difference is the people you meet, and that's dependent on your luck and personality, not the server.

Yeah, they pretty much are. Every server has the 30% retard/60% moron/10% good people mix. Some servers are *slightly* different... Bahamut is more like 40/55/5, others can be about 20/60/20, but the end result is pretty much the same.

Alright then,
I suppose I'll just go with Seraph...

Here's my last question hopefully...
Will this game run on Vista without any problems?

Murphie

That I don't know. I know that people play on Vista, but I don't have any personal evidence in that area.

Seraph is a perfectly reasonable server choice. I played there for quite some time (it was my server for a long time).

Can't say for sure, it will depend on your hardware and settings. There is a Vista VERSION if that's what you want, but I'd recommend running it on XP, since I've heard nothing but problems about FFXI Vista.

Darn it...
I can't run XP though...
My computer came with Vista already loaded onto it!
Man I really want to play this game and I don't want Vista to get in the way...

Servers are the same. Also one of my friends play FFXI using vista, although i have no evidence of this, its going to have to be the case of believing what you hear lol, but he does tell me that its pretty stable, also if you are running vista and you have already bought the game, then you should try it anyway ^^ no harm can come to you or your computer ^^

EDIT: My friend says that he has the vista version or something like that. if that helps

You can try running it with the Vista client.

Just try it, and see what happens, then come back to us for help..

that may work, if this does not work then i suggest Windows XP? or buysing a new copy of Final Fantasy XI (Vista Version). Maybe installing new drivers can solve the problem? not to sure myself, but thy are the only things i can think of.

I don't think you can buy a "Vista version" of FFXI, yet, right?!

It's just downloading the Vista compatible installer (from the official web site) to get the files from the DVD on to the computer running Vista. Probably.

You can buy anything when you're talking out of your ass.

I run ff with Vista laptop and wireless connection and have no problems.
I also play on 2 work stations and I don't see any difference in performance.

It works fine on Vista, as long as you follow these (http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/download/media/vista02.html?pageID=media) instructions to the letter.

I run it with no problems.
