I need to backup my patch files because I need to reinstall Rise of Zilart which for some reason did not install correctly. I had to do a system restore because when I tried reinstalling Rise of Zilart, I had to re-patch and patching takes a very long time for me on dial-up. Can anyone help out and tell me where I can find ALL of the patch files please? Thanks for any help

They're nowhere. Dats get downloaded and replace the existing ones. The only reliable way to reinstall is to reinstall from the CD's (DVD) and let it patch normally.

The patching process should finish overnight.

No. They don't exist. You get to sit around for hours and wait.

In unrelated news, get broadband.

By default:
C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ROM for FFXI patches
C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ROM2 for RotZ patches
C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ROM3 for CoP patches
C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ROM4 for ToAU patches

Unfortunatly the files from the original install are also in those folders, overwritten if the patches replaced them or added too if it was for new content. Seperating them out probably won't be possible.

Not everyone can. Welcome to the US, the western nation with the worst internet access and services.

Thank you for the replies. I just wanted to make sure :\

For your information, I can't get broadband where I live, believe me I tried. The best I can get is satellite, and unfortunately, it costs over $100 a month for only a little bit more speed than dial up.

Ouch. Sorry pal. I could continue to be a smart ass and say:

In unrelated news, move out from the boondocks.

But I won't do that.

Even though you just did? Is that all you ever say? "In unrelated news, (insert snide comment here.)" I don't understand what your problem is. If you don't have anything productive to say, why do you continue to post in here? Besides up your post count and try to boost your forum ego. And in "unrelated news" I can't exactly choose where I want to live at the moment, as I am still a minor and living with my parents.

Its important to note that the US is considerably more rural than its European counterparts. In most areas of Europe, you can make it to a major city in less than an hour, whereas in some parts of the US you can drive for an entire day and encounter only backwaters. It just isn't economically feasible to run a line out into some areas.

Then move, or get a cell phone for a modem.

No reason to be a dick about it. Not everyone can just move. Especially not for something like Broadband.

I read your entire post. But using a Cell Phone as a modem isn't necessarily anything like using Broadband, nor is it really a reasonable request for someone that already has internet access (albeit slow internet access).

In unrelated news I like to be an asshole sometimes. Don't gotta take it so personal. Or maybe you do. Don't cry, it's just an internet forum.
