What do you guys think about the insane cost of the later die's?

Frankly now 100k = 1million old gil. When these die's were added they cost chump change, but now its a lot of effort to get these damned things. You guys think the price of these should be lowered to ease the burden on the Corsairs?

Say wha-?

I want to go cor, but if it's this expsensive...

Why would it cost so much? I only see about 10 corsairs on total on my server with /sea all cor

I paid for most of COR and RNG career on Conquest points and imperial standing, only now do I not lean on that old habit so much.

So I really don't see the problem, gil-wise. I'm terrible with gil and still made it to 75 with both jobs just fine.

Be thankful you don't have to quest or deal with our Dice being NM, BCNM or Mob drops, do you realize how insane it would be if Fighter's Roll was an NM drop? It would be like getting Erase in the old days where you paid an arm and leg to have it or have the "right job" to do a BCNM 40.

Only bad thing about buying Corsair dice is when you need some dice and Chayaya is tarunapped.

If the expense of COR bothers you, its just not the job for you. Neither are RNG and NIN, for that matter. Thankfully, our some of our best gear is free and our best AFs get a TON of milage in contrast to most other AF.

Let's see, they're what, 20k each average? At 18 jobs, that comes out to around 360k, right?

Jesus, I think I speak for a lot of people when I say "I've spent more than that on a single spell. Live with it."

EDIT: Looked it up. They're about 26k on average, and around 470k total. That's still not bad at all. Even at "4.7m" at peak values, It's not much worse than what another mage would spend on spells in the long run, especially when you include subjobs.

I like the cute little pirates on the other swf more. Even if it is seizure-y.

Mithras? I didn't see a kitty in thar.

But thanks for the cute animation!

I wonder how many animations have that song, or if there is even longer version.

That entire video is Gold Digger characters if I'm not mistaken, so no, no Mithras. Also, it's definitely not Calcula, as Calcula is not that busty.

All dice come out to 620,792 total. Not ridiculous like WHM back in the super expensive Erase/Raise III days, but I'm pretty sure you can level RDM or BRD 1-75 getting all of their spells for less(granted half of the BRD spells are crap, but most RDM spells are useful) given today's deflation. If I'm correct Phalanx is the most expensive spell a RDM has to buy, which is 40-50k on Ramuh these days.

I think you'll find the spells Feba had in mind were AM spells, most of which were over a million at their highest. Even Erase never got that high.

The cost of the dice just aren't that high.

Callisto
06-26-2007, 12:19 PM
Some AM and tier 4's are still relatively expensive, which is one reason I didn't include BLM in that. The other being that COR is a support job, and I was keeping it relative to other support jobs. COR will definately cost you a crapload more than BRD or RDM assuming you go with basic staple gear for all jobs(omitting luxuries like HQ staves, sha'ir body, ESword), the dice being a considerable chunk of that, as well as the AF quests which ran me about 300k total 3 weeks ago on Ramuh.

Omgwtfbbqkitten
06-26-2007, 12:33 PM
... my AF cost me 800k ._.

And I don't even use hands and leg AF. Well pants for - enmity on occasion, but that's about as useful as they get.

Hands were not useful to begin with, then you get Deadeye Gloves at 60. Jaridah legs aren't really replaceable until War Brais and Dusk trousers.

Callisto
06-26-2007, 01:08 PM
Yeah, you don't get a choice to do the legs, and you could technically skip the hands to save cash, but not if you want to be able to store your AF. I just made the gil I need for Deadeyes and Trailer's Kukri this weekend, but still 2 assault ranks to go before I can get Shark Gun and continue on past 60; ; Oh well, gives time to do 69-75 BRD at least.

Kuro
06-26-2007, 01:16 PM
I'm in the same boat, 2 more rank up's and i can get the gun. I'm going to use the time to speed level NIN and WHM to 37 (or just sod it and go up to 75)

Runing up the totals, 177,100G for full AF
