View Full Version : Recommand video to show what FFXI truely is?

I just thought to myself, whenever i run into a mmo forum, most people just haven't see the real FFXI before they judge this game.

Maybe a video would worth a million words ? I am looking for good recommanded videos you could find online to show these people whenever i see people ask
"What is FFXI?"

Well, in most cases, everyone's going to have a judgment about a game that they VIEWED. It does get a little annoying hearing the comments like that, but I'm not one to talk 'cause I do it too. Here's a link to a video that ppl might be interested in. If they aren't, then oh well.

It's impossible to sum up a game a lot of people have been playing for five years in a five minute video. Meeting Again, Recollections, they're good, but they're not a representation of FFXI.

I can imagine a 24 hour long presentation. For the first 2 hours you're lost in sandy, then you head out and kill bunnies for 3~ skip ahead to Valkurm, get into mismanaged or PLed party for 5 hrs, multiple deaths~ skip to out of valkurm, on way to Jeuno~ Get to Jeuno. Find out you need cash, farm for 10 hours, take up a craft only to find that it eats your money that you don't have enough of. Encounter fellow player, receive LS pearl, have it broken as the LS falls apart because of drama, showcase jobs and then spend the last remaining four hours to show more leveling and more farming accompanied by the occasional flash of images of Sea, Sky, HNM's, Shadow Lord, and the all important RMT.

Final Fantasy XI is meant to be thought of as a Final Fantasy game, not an MMO. Try "Recollection". It's outdated and could be better, but it's still well done.

You couldn't be more wrong if you said Final Fantasy XI was a type of food.

While we're talking about videos, the video that got me playing was some old one I haven't seen in forever.

It seemed to be about a (JP) linkshell, the music was One Life by the pillows. It had a bunch of fairly random stuff, like characters on the ferry and such, but I'd really appreciate it if anyone could find it.
