Which Jobs are Lacking in Your World?

I haven't been leveling much lately, but seems like for the last year I've been plagued by a lack of tanks, no matter which job seeked on Ifrit. This is very pronounced post Lv.40, but start to be noticeable right after the Qufim Island levels.

For example, I was looking at those seeking near a Lv.43 friend last night; not a single NIN or PLD between Lv.41-45, but there were plenty of DD's, WHM's, RDM's, and even a BRD seeking. Heck, there was only one WAR, and that was my friend (who hates tanking on WAR, lol.)

Earlier tonight, I was looking at near Lv.66, since a MNK friend was seeking. Again, no NIN or PLD between Lv.64-68. He ended up joining a bones party.

How are things in your world? Which jobs seem terribly scarce? At what level ranges?

If critical jobs are missing, how are you coping? Are you starting/joining parties with non-standard setups? Or, find patience enough for Buddha, and wait until fate delivers a party to you?

On Garuda around lvl 30-50 mark their is a noticable lack of DD's and around the 20's mark WHM's. Thousands of Nins, and wars, RDM's and BLU's and an over population of BLM's.

I have never been in a party with a PUP. Only been in one party with a COR. Maybe two parties with a Bard.

On Ramuh, there is a large tank shortage at all levels it seems, and an absolute abundance of BRDs. Everyone and their mother is leveling BRD to be a merit point whore, the first time I was a 65 BRD and had to lfg for 5 hours because there were 4 other BRDs lfg(3 of them from my ls), I was like, "Ok wtf is going on? Do I have a gimped DRG sub on or something??"

But yeah, no matter what job I try to xp on, I seem to wait 2+ hours for a tank to come online, generally there are 2 in my level range online, already in parties by the time I get home from work.

Unless I level my PLD. Then of course there are no healers.

We never have to worry about a tank, we have a NIN in our static :P But when we used to have to find a 6th, there was never a bard at our level.

Funny you should mention that tho. Our newest member is PLing his Bard so he can static with us, instead of using his RDM :cool:

There is a distinct lack of milkmen and data processors on Bahamut. Can't find a one.

I either have really bad timing when I choose to lfp, or Fairy has a shortage of support role jobs in the 40s and 50s. Since level 40, I have participated in more parties without any sort of support (COR, BRD, or RDM is what I'm referring to) than ones with it. I almost fall off my chair in shock if I join a party that already has a RDM. I have really come to appreciate what support role jobs can do for a party. It has been a challenge as a WHM to have a decent party experience without them.
Tanks are hard to come by also, but not to the degree that I've seen this problem with support. Then again, maybe I've just got really bad timing. -_-;

I run a small social named TheNightsWatchLives, a reincarnation of a linkshell that has been on Ramuh for over 3 years now. For Dynamis I run with FraggleForce, and occassionally do endgame things with Fallen.

And yeah, not being able to find a tank has been a real issue to me lately. It went like this: I was tired of never having a BRD around when I needed one, and I wanted to lose less xp on RDM, so I decided to lvl BRD. At 65+ BRD, I could never find a tank when I tried to xp so I started to level PLD again. At 33 PLD I could never find a healer so I decided to put my head through a cinderblock as opposed to leveling BST or PUP where I would be less party-dependant. Then while doing a manaburn party to get some buffer on my RDM I partied with a COR, and the job looked really cool so I picked that up. It is in fact really cool, if not really expensive.

At any rate, if you need help/advice(especially in regards to RDM, I looove raising new RDMs for my Army of Ridiculously Awesome Red Mages) with things I am on most weeknights, I've been on Ramuh over 3 years now and I try hard to have a good working knowledge of all jobs*, not just the ones I've leveled high, feel free to send me a /t.

*Except BST and PUP. I may be a Ridiculously Awesome Red Mage, and very good at most other jobs, but I am for sure a craptastic BST, and probably would be a worse PUP.

That's cool. My RDM is still in the upper 30s I think. I probably won't be leveling it soon, I have too many jobs leveled without a solid main job!!! I keep getting sidetracked and helping others out.

I'll have to remember to send a /befriend to you next time I get on. Hopefully we can chat every now and then, and I'm sure a question or two will come out every now and then, as this is our first time through :)

EDIT: and I'm the same. BST seems like fun, but man do I suck at it. Which is too bad, there are a few BCNMs that we could use BSTs for

I'm in a static with a WHM and PLD at the moment, myself on THF. We have a RDM catching up to us soon...so hopefully we'll only need one or two DD's, or random mages, and we seem like we'll be set. ^^;

Before we got the PLD/RDM, we could never ever find both a tank and refresh. If we found a BRD, no tank, if there was a NIN, no RDM, etc. Other than that, there don't seem to be many shortages.

ok well for Ifrit i have noticed always having bad luck with WHM from levls of 20-37 or so....and i love partying with COR and BRD...but its only happend twice for COR and once for BRD...i wish there were more of 'em
partied a few times with a PUP also duo'd with one for a while...but DD's are always around for me...BLM not so much though everynow and then yeah but not always....

I'd say tanks for nearing 50 on Midgard, but I'm playing WHM, and I seem to get a fair number of /tells for PT without a flag up ... which probably means something, but I'm not thinking about a lack of WHM when I'm seeking as that job.

Calli!! You can be the BRD for the mamaburn static I'm starting with Thuggy, Alexa, Badboi.. I know a couple other BLMs about that level that we can bring in to fill the group.
