Help me out gil-wise? Fairy

My highest is a 34 Summoner / White mage, I have all summons but Titan Fenrir and Diabolos(sp). My 2nd highest is a 29 samurai. Anyway, how can I make some fast gil? I need to make 1,000,000 as fast as possible for a certain item. I currently only have 50,000 and my gear which is worth under 100k.

I just want to be able to make gil as fast as possible. Also, I'm not sure if this is against the rules on the forums and I'm sorry for sounding like a newb... but could anybody possibly spare a few gil? I'll pay you back as soon as possible. You can even add me to your friend list to make sure I pay you back.

What on earth could you possibly need for 1million to do your job? You're a 34 SMN, after all.

The summoner staff. - I want to get started on it now so I don't have to worry about it once I get to that level.

I can't for the life of me figure out which staff you're referring to.

There are two staves on Fairy that go for that price. The Prelatic Pole (http://www.ffxiah.com/item.php?id=17582&sid=30&stack=0), and the Revenging Staff +1 (http://www.ffxiah.com/item.php?id=17562&sid=30&stack=0). Neither are needed, and both are quite a while in the future for you.

I'm not sure of the name, but it's the level 50(51?) staff that gives cure potency and lowers the perpetuation cost on carbuncle. - I'm not sure if its 1,000,000. but the last time I checked it was 1,000,000

Possibly the Apollo's Staff (http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/2393)? You don't need that. You'll want to have a set of all of the elemental staves (they all have an avatar perpetuation down effect, just one less than the HQ staves), and eventually work your way up to the HQ versions of all of them.

No one expects a new SMN to have a full set of HQ staves.

AFAIK, HQ Light Staff (Apollo's Staff) helps a lot with solo'ing, since that's when you'd keep Carbuncle out for long stretches at a time. If you are not planning on major solo'ing, probably shouldn't even be worrying about it, and just should get a NQ Light Staff instead.

Here's a few ideas for making some gil:

- Do the teleport scroll quests. They sell for 50k - 100k each. You'll probably want these later on, but you can always buy them later if you want. You can also do the Ususemi:ichi and Tonko:ichi quests if you want

- Do the RSE quests if you haven't done them already (The Goblin Tailor). You can make about 200k, depending on race.

- Farm or level-up your low jobs in Sarutabaruta and Giddeus, focusing on crawlers and bees (Silk Thread and Beehive Chips). Get your THF to lvl15 if it isn't already. it'll save you alot of time farming.

- Farm elementals in Pashhow. They are a guaranteed drop, and crystals sell fast (although prices are currently low). Also kill the Goblin Leechers for Invisible scroll, Goobue's for Tree Cuttings and Boyahda Moss, and Leeches for Beastman's Blood. Set your HP in your home city and use outpost warp between Pashhow and the auction house.

- Do some BCNM's that drop things like Utsusemi: Ni.

do some good repeatable quests or go solo The lvl 30 BCNMs at Horlais peak and Ghelshba Outpost. Easy really and both require Ramuh and only two blasts of his 2hr. easy cash there for Smns. theres a vid of it on Youtube

The apollo/light staff isn't really NEEDED like stated earlier.

A full set of HQ staves is just about any mages dream, and it takes a lot of time, effort, and sacrifice to obtain them all.

But the much cheaper NQ staves will provide nearly the same benifits, and will be unnoticable for the majority of your smn career. I would spend more time an effort on obtaining carbuncle mitts and ying yang robe (at the appropriate level of course) than trying to get the HQ staves.

When you do start to obtain these though, I'd recommend aiming for both Apollo's (light) and Auster's (wind) as carbuncle will be your primary soloing avatar, and gardu's high level blood pacts are quite damaging. Pluto's (dark) for diabolos and fenrir will also be of great importance to you later on as well. Dark also has that nice +10hMP on it that you'll want to macro in between kills.

Certainly do not feel gimp if you are not able to afford these by level 50, especially on your first job. The benifits they offer to SMN are small when exping, and really only marginally better at higher levels. There won't be many instances where the extra -1 perpetual cost will make or break you.
