Why Rangers arent accepting in party's much?

Now i have heared beacause of Renkei or Regenki or whatever its called but i hav'nt heard any more reasons,it makes no sense they do alot of damage and everything,so basicly what i am asking is what are some other reasons?

yeah Renkai is when you use your TP, and a teamate linkes thier TP attack to yours, and another teamate to thiers, and so on, creating a much more powerful attack. (do a search for more info :))

And i think rangers arent chosen cause they do miss alot. Also, they cant tank, and while do same/better damage then the tanks, they probably have a lesser attack then a black mage. So people have the Black Mages for the major attacking, and the tanks to keep the mages alive, with that strategy its hard to find a place for a Ranger. Not saying I wouldnt like one in my party though, but yeah, a Black Mage will probaby always be chosen over a Ranger.

PT with ranger need a very high PT skill for the leader and the ranger.

Ranger = if he's good, kicks very much ass
if he's bad, it's like fighting with 5 people.

Also, half the time it's not so much a problem of not knowing a working renkei, it's more of a "high miss rate" problem. At earlier levels (like mid-20's~30's) rangers are usually place in the middle of the renkei. If they miss, it's like 2 people going separately. Now later on, when rangers get sidewinder and all those badass abilities... <go to top statement>

I suck at PT's ;.; I bet even if I was a good class I would be worthless ;.; Unless I was a summoner with Ifrit :) Then I would be cool in a PT :cool:

Ranger is BY FAR the most powerful damage dealer in PT outclassing thieve and darknight. Only thing that comes close to matching the damage a good ranger can deal out is Black Mage's Ancient magic (flare, quake, etc) - but even that doesn't come really close, not to mention you cannot use such magic that frequently due to MP restriction.

People who don't know the power of ranger is simply a noob, in my opinion;)

However, a relatively new player SHOULD NOT play ranger. As some already mentioned, if played poorly with poor equipment, ranger will harm the entire PT by missing too much.

To be a good ranger, you need TONS OF GIL to buy good bow, arrows, and high AGI equipment. (Leaping Lizzy Boots is a MUST at lower level.)

My dream PT has always been:

PLD, THF, RNG (PLD for tank, THF-RNG for 2 Renkei (Sidewinder->Viper or Dancing)

BRD, WHM, RDM
