cancel content ID question

Greetings,

After almost a year of holding onto a friends account for mueling purposes, I am going to retire him. This morning I went in and cancelled his content ID. To the best of my knowledge that should cancel him from my credit card and render his character inaccessable for FFXI. However when I got home from work I tried to log on as him, and it let me right in the game. Is there something I missed or does the content ID last a certain time period even after cancelled?

It's good until the end of the month. They bill on the first, so you've already paid for June. On the 1st of July you won't be able to access it any more.
