I'll reach lvl 75 with my drk before I ever get to sea, let alone get a chance to do Limbus runs. I realize that the Brutal Earring is a very powerful and desirable item to have, so I have been looking into buying ancient beastcoins from bizarres and aquiring it that way. On my server, the average cost per beastcoin is 20,000, and since you need 75 for the earing, Id be looking and spending 1,500,000 gil on it. For those of you have have it (reguardless of job) do you think this item is worth that sort of money?

Well you can buy the coins ahead of time, but you need Sea access for the quest to become available.

Well, ignoring the Store TP trait, the wiki lists the DA bonus on the earring as +5%, so just by equipping this earring your total damage should increase by 5%. It's hard to quantify how much damage is worth how much gil, but I'd say there are very few items that would single-handedly increase your output by that kind of factor. You could compare it to Byakko's Haidate or Dusk Gloves +1.

It gives you double attack if your drk/thf or drk/sam its well worth the gil. I wouldn't start buying currency until your on "One To Be Feared"

Also, wasn't Limbus supposed to get cheaper?

If it does then the price of coins will most likely go down, or worst case you'll be able to get more coins while spending less money if you are willing to wait and simply farm the coins when you get access.
