Haste Build question

Greetings,

The search function is acting up at my office computer, so I appologize if this has been covered recently. Basically for a melee (in my case, drk) what is a good base % of haste gear to start a "haste build"? I think with my current gear (not as much as Id like mind you) I could pull off 13%.

13% is prolly pretty good as it stands.

I don't know much about DRK gear, but on BST I run 19%, which is max I can get without +1 Dusk and and Speed Belt.

Haste i believe caps at 20-25%. So if your sitting at +13% haste your doing good. Especially if you can get hit with a Haste spell that gives +15%. Thats puts you at +23%.

As a Bst and a Nin. Im pretty much capped out on Haste. An if its possible to cap out on D.W then i most likely done that as well.

Haste from equipment caps at 25%, but that can still stack with the Haste spell and March to go even farther. According to the wiki, haste is capped at approximately 70% for melee attacks and 50% for recast timers.

I assume your character info is a little out of date and you're at least a 72 drk for dusk gloves and boots, otherwise I can't figure out how you'd get as much as 13%. If so you've got pretty much all the haste gear you can equip at that level. Other than the Walahra Turban, you'd need Askar or Homam gear to push it much farther than that.

I was told Haste gear and the spell didn't stack past 25%.

I am gonna have to go get my whm an brd buddy to juice me up. I wonder what having +25 haste gear, and a ton of D.W gear will do to my dagger speed.

Its funny though, i don't think i ever get haste or marched casted on me with my Bst. ="(

There's a video floating around somewhere of a NIN hitting the Haste cap by dual wielding really low delay daggers with a crazy Haste build, Haste spell and Soul Voice March ... he just doesn't stop striking, it's insane.

Doing it with katanas is better <,< i can almost non stop attack with daggers with haste only, Nin/blm i have only really met 1 or 2 who pull it off good but its expensive.

Actually it's current, but I was asking this question for the "soon to be" setup, I like to be prepared :D
