POL-0020 Error

Hi. I'm returning to FFXI after somewhere around a year being away. I'm trying to connect but I'm getting an error, POL-0020 after I get stuck on the Checking PlayOnline Viewer Version. I've searched for an answer but no other posts helped with the problem.

How can I fix this - I can't wait to come back!

Did a quick google search and it said that your DNS is not responding. And I guess that you're going to be connecting from a PS2? (that's what it looks like to me). More detailed description of the error (it throws text before the error code) would be helpful.

Also, what are you connecting from, do you have a firewall? Do you have a Router? What version of Windows are you running (if you're running this from windows), what settings do you have on your PS2 network card (if you're running from PS2).

Yes I'm connecting to a PS2. I turned my firewall off. I use a lynksis router but I freed the ports that I need to (did a search on these forums for the ports), I use XP, and i'm not sure what settings I have on my PS2 network card. All I know is that it used to work fine a few months ago when I played. I've only played Socom III online since then, other than that I haven't used the PS2 router.

It says the DNS server is not responding, and it recommends checking all cables and devices making sure they're hooked up and copnfigured. Maybe the configuration is my issue.

Error fixed.

I held my routers reset button for 10 seconds. This gave me a new IP which worked in POL.
