O.Kote...money...ack

Well I've stopped leveling SAM because of the price, only to run into a problem for MNK: I still need an O.Kote. Well, I'm 34 now, so Im ready for it...but I have Giga's Bracelet on. I'm thinking of trading it in for a Fed. Tekko, good idea for promy's right? Well, I still want an O.Kote, since when Im done with MNK I can take it back to SAM. But that 750k price tag is waaaaaaaaay too high for me.

I don't have anymore SAM gear as of now, so I'm stuck with a 34MNK to work with.
Any ideas on how I can get the money for an O.Kote? Should I get some help and attempt to camp Mee Deggi?

I ended up getting my o-kotes around level 50. I would say just wait until you're high enough to not aggro any yags in the room. ( probably level 50 ) and just camp them then.

750k isnt terribly hard to come up with. Just take some time to do some quests for items that sell well, farm and bcnm!

I really have no clue on how to make 750k in 2-3 days. That might take me a month to do. Also, concerning the brown belt, if MNK will be one of my highest jobs, am I best off questing for it or just buying it?

I guess it depends. If you think you can get assistance from some friends who don't mind killing the various NMs required to quest the Brown Belt, then quest it. But if you would rather raise an additional 480k or so, then just buy it.

Ok, I figured that I should level another job and make money off that. Something like DRG, WAR, or PUP...or a cheaper job. Use that job to make money, buy the uber gear for MNK, and I'm good. Any recommendations for which job I can choose that can make money?

I love when people make it sound like it's easy to raise a mil in a day. Prices of everything have completely bottomed out, as soon as you find a money maker everybody else finds it and the market is flooded. Demon Horns used to be my scheme. Farmed 2 stacks in like 3 days, and the price goes from 150k a stack to 75k. Only constant item seems to be a stack of Imp. Silver pieces that stay around 80~90k.

Find a BCNM20 with a guaranteed drop, and find a few people. Do this with 2 other LS mates and this should speed up your O. Kote fund. But you'll still need to do other farming, and you'll need to Bazaar over night.

I camped mine. Took me 4 months to get it, and 8 days after I did they released the Rare/EX ones. I've been "casually" camping the bastard the past 2 weeks so I can sell my originals and get Dusk Gloves. But being 1/35 makes Baby Jesus cry.

None of those jobs are necessarily cheaper than MNK. You can spend as much gil or as little gil on a job as you like.

If you want to pick a job that's good at making gil, you could try THF (can solo amazingly well) or BRD (popular choice for many BCNMs).

Or you could choose a money making activity that's independent of your job. Gardening, crafting and HELM can all be done equally well by all jobs. Well, you could argue that certain jobs have it easier with HELM in dangerous zones. But you get the point.

Well thanks a bunch guys. I'm gonna look into some BCNM20s, since I heard Mannequin Hands go for 250k on my server, so thats a large step up for me. I decided to level up SAM before hand, seeing how I can do things to get MNK/SAM/NIN specific equipment, so use SAM to get those. Periodically I'll try to camp for the O.Kote.
