So I managed to get Sky with the help of my awesome LS :)

So now Iv got Sky....what is there to do in Sky?

I always thought Sky was a whole new area (seveal zones etc) but from what I can tell, Its just literally a big platform with teleports to several Sky God pop areas.

What I'm saying is, is this it? Sky is only used for Gods?

Used to be used to exp, you still can but its hard to get people to go there with all the ToAU areas. Apart from that missions/gods is about it I think.

Pretty much the whole point to sky is gods and farming triggers to spawn them, yes. There was a time people also EXPed there (we still honestly could), but its no longer common.

Take some time to grab coffer keys and try to get the maps for all three sky zones if you can. Navigating sky can be a real pain in the ass since everything looks so similar from on area to the next. Apparently the Zilart and the Covenant have the same design theory - make an area so boring and repetitive that your enemies either (1) get bored and leave or (2) kill themselves from the insanity it creates.

3 Sky zones? Wow, shows how closely I looked, I thought the 3 maps on Wiki was the same zone. But it was like 2am in the morning.

I have promised myself to go on a Coffer/Chest hunt spree at some point, Iv got like a billion keys taking up space in my MH for various zones that I need maps for and are chest/coffer maps.

But I want 75 1st :p

Sky is basically gods, exp, DM (big one for everyone), Completing the ZM story line, and let us not forget complaing about how the rmts bot despot.

Sky used to be the place for insane TP burns before TAU.

I bet you could get some amazing EXP there off the old weapon camps, since you wouldn't have much competition nowadays.

Also nice for EXP if you ever decide to level BST.

Other than that, it's mostly just for quests, missions, and gods... Although if you're a mage, you could try making some spare cash off Elementals.

If I have one piece of advice for you about sky, its to learn how to get around in all the zones

There's nothing more irritating than trying to find someone who is lost but has been to sky 230982432 times before.

Get yourself the maps if you can, better yet, find some maps online that label everything and draw lines for you so you can navigate through the teleportals.

Interested about the Elementals....are these any different than the "normal" elementals? Or just happens to be in abundance there?

There's tons of them. Go do some walking around up there, in Ru'Aun, the place is full of the things.

It *was* very late, and once I had been teleported up there I saw all these teleports, took a few random ones, and then warped out. :P

Careful about that. Sky is FULL of magic aggro. Actually, I think everything there except for the birds magiggros. Warping can turn into Blood Porting quicker than you can say "Oh shit. Forgot about that..."

Actually, I ddi have a quick look around after I landed at the destination teleport, and there was a Pot a little way further on, that was it. I wouldnt have magic warped if I was surrounded.

I would have Tele'ed instead ^.~

Safe places to warp will always be just inside the Shrine or the Palace - there is enough room from where you enter before you hit any mobs.

Always carry silent oils/prism powders to sky. Once you are inside, everything aggros magic, some aggro sound, some aggro sight. Listen to your ls when you are inside, there are a few strange aggro mobs.

Hello Guy's I finally got sky open and wanted to know what do you get out of sky I'm sorry but i can't check out other sites because i'm at work and they pretty much banned most the sites ref. ffxi so if you guys can give me info for sky I'm hopefully there is good stuff for Sam?

Any decent RDM can solo Flamingos and one shot Detectors for both Coffer Keys to the maps in Sky. I was tired of getting lost in sky when I showed up late and spent a few hours coffer/key hunting for the maps. By the time you get both maps you should have an idea on how sky works.

Empty no ToAU bonus>56 people in CM fighting for an 87 xp fly.

1 coffer inlcudes the 2 indoor maps, the other is for the gardens.

The Vegalunnon coffer map covers both it and the Shrine. And I have never been so happy as when I got that coffer.

The best piece of advice I can give about sky is:

Bring silent oils. Even if you're a mage, there's not a lot of safe places to cast Sneak, and you need Sneak pretty much everywhere indoors.

And by the way, there's this player friendly NM called Faust, if you walk by him he will cast buffs on you, cast sneak on you, maybe even cure you. When you see him, be sure to get real close and wave at him. He's a cool guy.

Ulli is the actual friendly NM. You have to trade a diorite to a spot in a room with statues, but once you spawn him he works like a bst pet and kills everything for you. Great way to level up!

Ok, lets tell the truth.

Zipanaca is a health nut. Loves to jog indoors. Its just those damn players get in the way of this healthy routine by killing him.

If you see a stranger that is on /follow to you, use /equip to steer them toward the nearest wall of Caretakers.

If you see an RMT with thier flag up and you happen to be a BLM, invite them and veil a Warp II with an /equip macro. Its fun when they fall for this. You just have to be quick about it.
