Just started playing today... hopped on Hades

Like the topic says I just started today. I was asking for a Buddy Pass, but since the game was only US$20 I decided to just buy it and give it a try. I created an Elvaan Warrior and I must say this game is interesting... and totally different from any MMO I've ever played. Not sure if that is good or bad yet!

Also, I've got two questions...

1) How do I get crafting abilities?
2) Is there a decent LS on Hades that is willing a help a nub like me?

Welcome to FFXI. :)

To be able to craft, you have to join a certain guild for what you want to do. There are 9 different guilds.

TY Bakira, now how do I use them. I talked to Faulpie in San d'Oria and I guess I joined the leather working guild. Now how do I actually make stuff. Is there some where in the menu that I'm just not seeing that is used for item synthesis?!?!

Keep at it, if you like it a lot this early on, it only gets better. That's a promise. And as far as I know, the crafting system in FFXI is much more monotonous and time/resource consuming than most other MMO's, but stick to it and it will pay off big time in the end. You'll most likely lose money all the way up to the top unless you're smart about it

I figured out how to synthesis stuff this morning. I made some lumber, hurray. I'm guessing crafting takes a heck of a lot of time and money, but right now I'd rather worry about out fitting my character with some better equipment.

there are many different resources for crafting, you can check the crafting forums here for possible maps, I like to use the recipe lists on FFXIAH since it gives me real time information on what sells best/better. I'm not a fan of synthing for loss.
