Hey everyone. I just joined up with the online Final Fantasy last night, and therefor, I'm new to the world of FFXI. I'm just wondering if there is anything I should know that isn't covered in the manual or anything you recommend doing. Thanks!

Welocome to FFXI, i'm not on your server but lvl all 6 jobs to lvl 10 sell all crystals on AH and all the other drops to vendors and then you can pick what job you want to lvl and have Gil to lvl
AH = Auction House
be wary of aggro as some mobs attack after hearing or seeing you so becareful, goodluck and i hope you enjoy FFXI

Use it, learn it, absorb it, love it, and if you ask a stupid question without checking it, I will bite your head off. Actually, I'll probably bite it off anyway, but still, you should take steps to avoid that.

Second, signet. Look it up on the above.

Third, NEVER THROW AWAY BEASTMAN'S SEALS. EVER. I threw away 60 before I found out what you could do with them. It still makes me sad.

Fourth, RTFM. It sounds like you've already done this. DO IT AGAIN. 85% of basic questions are answered in the manual, so get it in your head, down to the last ""Do you want to fight the behemoth?!" "Sure, sounds like a good time!""

Fifth, if you have a question, use the search function, both here and on ffxiclopedia. If you don't find anything, use google. If you still don't find anything, go ahead and ask, but trust me, we've all seen your question at least a dozen times, so we'll be half asleep while we reply.

Sixth, enjoy the story and your friends. Everything else is crap.

Seventh, listen to the music, it's good crap. Much better than all but one or two songs in FFX and better than anything in FFXII.

Eighth, learn to take advice. There is nothing more annoying than a noob who thinks he knows everything.

Ninth, learn to take advice with a grain of salt. There is nothing more annoying than a misguided noob who thinks some guy he met knows everything.

Tenth, if you aren't having fun, don't force yourself to play. It will only make the problem worse. Just log off, take a break, and come back later. We'll leave the lights on for yah.
