Second Chocobo's Whistle

I tried finding this on the boards, but didn't find any answers.
I have a retired adult chocobo, and my new chocobo recently hit adulthood.
This chocobo has much better stats, and I'd rather ride that one than the old
one. How do I register the new chocobo for the whistle? I lost my old whistle btw.

There is an option to buy a whistle for 50k, should I choose this option?

If you lost your old whistle and currently do not have one your options are:

a) Do your whistle quest again with your current adult chocobo.
b) Buy another whistle for 50k.

Once you have a whistle, you can register any chocobo you have to be called by it. It costs 500g every time you want to switch chocobos.

Registration of your chocobos to your whistle involves trading your chocobo registration card to the proper NPC. After that, your whistle will call that chocobo.

i don't think the you can do the quest again if you toss out your first whistle. I myself have done the same and the NPC at the sandy stables (where I'm raising my current chocobo) has yet to give me the quest again. The only option i have is to purchase a new one for 50k
