Crab Shell

Does anyone know which area have the highest drop rate for crab shell? Sea Serpent Grotto is not really an option because I don't think my character is high enough for it yet. Thanks in advance.

If you aren't high enough to farm crabs in SSG, then I suggest you farm whatever drop you can farm effeciently for your level and simply buy crab shells from the AH with your farming proceeds.

I would suggest Korroloka Tunnel.

You could try the Crimson Knight Crabs in Lufaise or Misereaux as well. No one really kills them and they have a fast repop. They're only a tier lower then the SSG crabs though.

Heaven forbid high tier players buy supplies from new players, it makes much more sense for a high level crafter to waste his/her time farming for a low drop rate item..

Besides since they sell as cheap as 100gil I'm not sure how many RMT's would waste there time farming these..maybe I'm wrong and they have moved in to this market, that would be great, that means they aren't farming profitable drops.

Because crab shells is such a hot commodity for RMT, now that they their fish bots are being hunted down :rolleyes:

Actually, feeding "noobs" by buying stuff off the AH is a good thing. It's better that "noobs" make their living by selling random drops on the AH than for them to go buy gil from RMT. After all, isn't that what we basically tell every new player who comes to a message board asking how they can raise gil?

I know this post is old but the best place to get crab shells is in Castle Oztroja where Mee Deggi spawns. These Crabs have incredible meat and shell drop rates.

but isnt that level 40-50 to survive alone in there with no aggro and to kill things easy enough for profit? wouldnt that be a bit over SSG?
