It shows you a couple registry values to change that make a HUGE difference in the graphical quality on a PC. Read through the thread, it's long, I know...but there's tons of good info in there ^^

Also, if you have a widescreen monitor, within the game itself, in the config (can't remember exactly where) there is a setting to change the aspect ratio from 4:3, 5:4, 16:9, and 16:10. Spent days trying to figure that out when I was setting FFXI up on my media center ^^
