Ok I actually made a link shell theres a little problem , my mules the one who owns it so I cant give my main character a pearl sack since I cant be 2 members at once . someone was saying you can transfer the leader from one person to another? I Was hoping to do that with a member so they could then change the leader back to my main character. How do I change the leader ? lol

Please dont ask why I had my mule buy the ls , It was months ago and i never used it till now >.<

I'm honestly not sure that you can change a linkshell leader, even if the current leader leaves the game. Your best bet (as much as this sucks) would probably be to get another linkshell. :(

yes theres no way to transfer leader of a LS so u will hv to drop it and buy another one...
and if u worry about the name theres no problem when un break one Ls the name becomes availible again so u can use the same name again

I don't think you can change leaders, but can't confirm that. But there is an alternative.

The Shell Holder of my shell has a shell on one char and a sack on another! He did this by lagging himself out of the game, loggin in his alt quickly, and sacking his alt while his name still showed in the LS list.

Might take a few trys depending on how fast you can log in, but there's a few minute lag between when people DC that they still show in /search and the LS menu.

Hope this helps.

Necro is correct, with some speedy fingers and disconnecting yourself just right, you can have your Mule sack you. Usually takes 4-8 tries from what i've heard, but it should work.

I might have to try sacking my mule sometime just for the fun of trying it, not because I really care all that much. :)

I strongly suggest just dumping the Mule Linkshell Holder and buying another Linkshell under your MAIN character. You will have to keep switching to your mule to make someone a Sackholder. Do you really want that?

If you can't spare another 8K, then maybe you should have paid more attention to which character you were on when you bought it. -.-

I'm still wondering why a Mule would buy a Linkshell in the first place.

lmao I know I should have , Well I suppose I'll try your suggesting with the whole logging thing lmao , But I think Id need a macro for that o.0 .
and dont worry next time I will pay attention , This might be one of the stupidest mistakes Ive made in awhile lmao. Though I think there is someway to change membership Since one of my friends quit and gave her LS to someone else...But who knows

I know it's after the fact, but would this be a problem a GM could fix?

I don't see how or why. It's a user error.

Exploiting a glitch like this to fix a stupid mistake is... well, stupid. Why not just break the LS from your mule and make a new one on your main?

Exactly. That's what a couple of us suggested above.

I mean, he's still going to have to log in to his mule to make someone a sackholder if he ever had to.

To the OP, just trash it and spend another 8k with your MAIN character.

How is it stupid? It's not like anyone's going to get banned for giving themselves an LS sack.

Can't say that 100%. A glitch is a glitch and the ToS specifically states exploiting those is a No No.

Are you refering to the mistake, or "the fix"?

To sacking yourself.

And Ameroth, this is not really a glitch, nowhere near as much of a glitch as Utsusemi tanking...

Heh... go sack yourself! :D

Those responsible for sacking the mule, have been sacked?

So using an game ability in a different fashion than SE anticipated is worse than taking advantage of latency issues on the server. Don't get me wrong, I don't think this 'bug', 'glitch', 'fix', or whatever you wanna call it is all that big a deal, but it leans toward an exploit to a glitch, and could be a bad thing.

I doubt they'd care much about this one. It isn't completly a glitch it's just networking 'physics'. From the moment of disconnection the network will not close the session for 60 seconds, it doesn't declare the session dead for 120 seconds, and it doesn't remove the IP from it's active tables till 240 seconds pass.

So to put it short the game still see's a disconnected character for 60 seconds from the point that it detects the disconnect. About all you can do with that is do these kind of things, for glitches it's generally illegal if you get some sort of monotary gain. This one doesn't really give you any advantage, the time window to even do much with it is so short it isn't viable for any purpose. On top of that the server will still validate anything that happens to the character during that time, which is why players can come back to a dead character when they get disconnected.

My point is, it might not be working exactly as SE intended, but it still falls into the "It's a feature, not a bug!" category.

lol, well yeah basically. The only way I could see someone exploiting this is if a person found a way to force another IP off the session. Then if they found a way to get the disconnected player's character to trade items, then they could take advantage.

Then it would be force disconnect, steal items, and when player gets back he won't be able to do anything to reclaim. System will say he legally traded it. That is the worst, that is also a very iffy possibility.
