Troubleshooting: effects during battle

I have a problem with my effects. I can see them perfectly when NOT in battle mode, however when I fight -- I can't.
I checked my configuration and all the effects are switched to "on..."
What's going on? Is it my video card? I have a Radion Portable series... >_>
Can someone help me, please?

turn them off. The "ON" means the FILTER is on, not the effect.

Also, I beleive there's a setting called "Effects during battle", fiddle with that too.

That issue confused me for sometime as well. When I finally used my brain and read "Effect Filters" I realized 'On' actually meant off.

Wonder if it was some sort of translation thing or if SE just likes to mess with people's heads.

When a chat filter is OFF, it means it's not being used--nothing is filtered, so you get the info in chat log. When you turn it on, it filters out the corresponding category, so you don't get the info in chat log.

When I turn my spam filters off for e-mail, I get spam. When I turn it on, I get no spam (well, a lot less, anyway). Seems to work the same way.

It makes sense to me. >_>
