i know what some people are thinking or might say "Use the search button noob" but i have and havent found anything stating on how to convert a mqo to a dat without model viewer. I say this cause ffxi isnt installed at my work computer which i am using to customize some of my weapons. And model viewer doesnt seem to work well if ffxi isnt installed.

Hallihallo na2tt300zx
As far as i know only the creator of the modelviewer knows how to extract/convert MPQ to DAT and otherwise. There is no know tool exept the Modelviewer that can do that conversion to my knowledge.

Actually MV, works Perfectly Fine Without FFXI Instaled, And you don't need every single Rom File/folders, You can simply work with the Bare structure and put them where you need.
This will be simple Instructions on how to do it.
1. Create, A fake new folder for yourself so ou can keep it orginazed.
Ex, FFXI Roms
2. Open your Root, FFXI Install Folder, Copy FTABLE.dat and VTABLE.dat, into the root of your Fake Folder.
3. Create a ROM/ROM2/ROM3/ROM4 Folder, in the fake folder
4. From your FFXI Install Folder, Copy the same FIles as Above, Into each of the Identcal Folders, in your Fake Folder..
So basicly, The Root Folder, ROM2, ROM3, And ROM 4, should all have FTABLE/VTABLE.dat files in them.
And thats all there is to it, The easiest thign from there, to do would be to, Use the No Equipment Model Slot, for each race or whatever you want.
Same for any NPC/Monster/Whatever, Then you only have to Create the folder, and place the dat you need re-numbered to what you want to work on, In the Fake Folder Structure, and you can use Model Viewer, without having to run around with like 5gb of files. ^^
But like Nomidio said, you can only convert MQO's wiht MV
So you can easily, put all your programs, for Editing, and Viewing on a Small PenDrive :)
