Does the 'Enhances Souleater' effect from the AF helm stack with the effect from the lvl 50 Brygid body piece?

the general concensus is no - they have the same effect. FFXIclopedia states that either piece will boost your hp->damage from 10% to 12%.

From my experience and from what we used to say it was, was a +5% souleater bonus on the AF helm. which does not stack with other +%souleater sadly

How good is the 52-60 AF armor for DRK? Should I bother getting it? And how long will I be able to use it for before I have to upgrade?

Ah, pity. There's an acc boost too as well as the hp% increase right? No chance of that stacking I suppose...

Drk AF is so rubbush, it's be nice if they threw us a small bone.

Most of it is crap, I only bothered getting the Scythe to open the AF quests, the Helmet for the souleater charge and +4 STR, and the boots because it was simple.

Although, the important bit is that I will be unlocking the rest eventually so I can upgrade to the +1 later in the game, so if you want the AF+1 gear (which in my opinion, is half decent and some worth the effort), then you will need to do your AF eventually.

Other then that, standard drk AF sucks and i only unlocked what I needed at the time, +5MND from the boots and Souleater/+4 STR for Guillotine.

But why not just get the relic armor instead of the AF +1?

Depends on the piece.

Relic helm has +10 attack, and AF+1 helm has +7 STR and + souleater. AF+1 would be much better for Weapon skills.

Relic body has +10 accuracy and magic attack bonus +10, whereas AF+1 has +7 STR, +dark magic and +10 attack.

Again, Relic hands would be better for magic and AF+1 hands are better for WS. Likewise with boots.

by the looks of it relic is much better for magic, whereas AF+1 is just enhanced artifact, perhaps a "what should have been".

It really depends on what you use them for and you macro them in when the time suits

I find most AF for all the jobs is tries too hard to round out your weaknesses rather than playing to your strengths (DRK's AF is especially defensive...)

It would be nice if SE would go back re-work the stats for a lot of the pieces or even give them a set bonus like the Aht Urhgan sets have (and really, they should)
